...Hey, does anyone have a couch or something I can stay on for a few days? While I find somewhere else, I mean. I can do things like cooking and cleanin' to earn my keep! I'm real useful! I'm just real tired of sleepin' on the floor in the bar. It was exciting for a while, but now my back hurts ( Read more... )

Why aren't you staying where you used to, Ari?

Because my back seriously hurts from sleeping on the floor. It's depressing.

Why are you sleeping on the floor, then?

'Cause the restaurant has no beds.

Oh. Why don't you find an apartment that's close to the restaurant? There are a lot of vacant rooms in Horton. I could help you find one!

Thanks. I'd really prefer Latimir, just because it has power and everything... I guess I'm not in a real position to be picky, though. Plus, I think it's full up.

That place is really popular because of it. If you ever change your mind, I can always help you look somewhere else! It's the least I can do for...well, you know.

I used to live in Latimir... And you've nothing to make up to me. I won't hear of it.

Then why did you move somewhere without a place to properly sleep in? Surely you could have just walked to where you work every morning.

But I do. I asked a big favor.

Because I needed to keep an eye on someone.

And I decided to do it willingly, so there's no payment involved. I feel very strongly about this.

I see. Will that person be alright once you move temporarily?

You think so? Do you think it'll work? I'm afraid my pals won't get along with each other! And what if monsters attack? Or it rains?

No idea...

[...] It'll work, it'll work. They'll get along because of you, if it rains we'll put up a tent, and if monsters attack, I'll fry 'em.

...Ask him to stay with you wherever you're going?

You'll fry them? [She chuckles.]

Oh, no. It ain't like that at all. He lives somewhere else, with other people.

Sure I will. If I get my chip out... oh, right, that makes you sick. Well, I'm sure the timing will work out okay...

Then he'll be alright! You can go visit him.

You don't have to whether or not you have your chip in. The people I'm inviting are really strong, and we can defend ourselves. I just wish we won't have to.

It's really not like that, either. By keeping an eye out, I didn't really mean protecting. In this case. It's complicated, and a little personal.

But it's still something you should do without having to worry.
