"I think it would take considerably more than one sheet," Li jokes. Although she's also entiresly serious about that. It would probably take more than one box of sheets.
That makes Sophie laugh and she nods her head. "Yes, probably, we're not dealing with static cling here, but some serious electricity. Though with all those dryer sheets he'll start to smell like Mountain spring in no time."
It takes a lot to make the dark skinned woman blush but she does. "I figured, I just didn't know. It was an intensely personal question, I'm sorry."
"You like it?" Her eyebrows raise and she smiles. The question sounds like she's surprised, but she's not. Her not being surprised implies she's thought about it, and she hasn't. Her inner thoughts are coming out all wrong at this point.
"I mean, of course! That's great, you should. Sex is kind of important in a relation ship and if it's not there then things get awkward."
"He doesn't short out or anything. That's what people think, isn't it? Because he doesn't," Li assures her.
"Men have said things to me before. Sexual things," she explains. "The way they said them: it made it sound like it was something awful; like they wanted it to be awful. But Pete never spoke to me like that. And it wasn't awful at all."
"I hadn't even thought about that, though with all that electricity I would image that's what people think." There's a whole world of endless possibilities that she hasn't even thought of apparently.
Her expression darkens and softens all at the same time when she listens to Li. "Some men want it to be awful because they're pigs, because they get off on other people's pain and humiliation. Sex isn't like that, or it shouldn't be." Sophie runs her fingers through her hair, blowing bangs out of her face with a sigh.
"It's nice to have another woman to talk to about these things," Li admits. "Sometimes I worry that I'm...missing something."
Initially there was apparently quite a lot Dr. Radium and Mickey Millions felt was unecessary information for a police officer. Social information. Emotional information. Things it was an unpleasant shock to find out.
"It is nice, to have someone that understands." Sophie agrees and twirls the straw in between her fingers. "Guys just don't understand, or don't want to. You can talk to me whenever you want, you know."
Sophie likes talking to Li, mostly because she's laid back, not as high strung as Pete or most of the girls she knows back in New York.
She turns her head and looks out the window they're sitting next to.
Turning back to Li, she gives her a smile and nods before finishing her drink and gathering her bag.
"He'd never forgive us, poor guy." Shaking her head she waits for Li, her hands in her back pockets. Without her, she would have no idea how to get back to Pete.
"Um, I guess because: they thought with a city full of heroes it would be hard to enforce laws. But they established an anti-vigilante policy right off the bat," Li explains, as she hails them another cab.
After giving the cape and cowl wearing driver Pete's address she hesitantly adds:
"Um. Maybe we should keep what we talked about today between us. Just in case."
"I can understand that," she finally says after a long moment and stays silent until they get into the cab. Sophie doesn't respond to the question for a long moment, sometimes it's hard for her to form words with the medication she's on.
"Of course, I won't tell a soul," she tells the other woman seriously.
ooc: a thousand apologies for the lack of response. It's been a long few days, but hopefully that's passed.
"You know, I'm not sure anyone likes to be talked about, but I know what you mean."
Smiling, she relaxes a bit more and looks over at Li and her fingernails. There's something nice about being familiar with Li and spending time with her.
"You're welcome, thanks for having girl time with me. I miss having it sometimes. They like doing things that I don't any more. Any time you wanna hang, just let me know."

"...Are we...? Well, um, yes. Of course."

"Oh, no, it's fine," Li insists. "I mean, I thought people might wonder. Think they wonder. They're probably still wondering. But yes, we do."
Blue flowers bloom on Li's cheeks.
"I like it."

"Thank you," says Li, who both sounds and looks genuinely touched by the offer. "I really appreciate that."
She follows Sophie's gaze.
"It's sort of beautiful, isn't it? I mean it's dirty and loud and crowded, but still..."
It's funny the things that grow on you.

Her finger twirls a strand of hair around the tip of her finger and she nods slowly. "It is beautiful. There's so much to look at and take in."

They once gave the entire city 6 months before collapsing in on itself.
"Anyway, we should probably head back before he starts to think we've run off together," Li says with a grin.

"Actually, you can probably tell any soul but Peter," she says. "He doesn't like being talked about."
His paranoia is only mostly unfounded.
"We can let him think we talked about other boys," Li suggests.
This is not neccessarily the best suggestion. Peter is the jealous type.
Back at the apartment, Li admires her fingernails in the sunlight, then links her arm through Sophie's at the elbow.
"Thank you again for the girl stuff."
((OOC: Totally no prob. I understand what that's like.))
