Dear Alex,
You were right. I should never move to Virginia, not even NOVA, despite how convenient it would make my commute to Alexandria. I just can't seem to get along with Virginians. They are republicans, every last stinking one of them (even the Muslims). Too many are in the military as well. Why does everybody in Virginia have to bring up 9/11 in conversation like they're Rudy Giuliani or something. Whenever someone brings it up, you know I have to have my say. 9/11 has been good to me; but to be more clear, the resulting government bureaucracy had resulted in positive implications in my previous work situation. I received threats from a bartender that he felt like punching me. People need to grow up. And I don't mean me. Snubbing, shunning, ignoring me and leaving the table just cuz I'm still there is straight up childish. I'm sorry, but 3,000Americans<1,000,000Iraqis. Talk about overkill. All I offer is understanding that I realize that a person would be a bad military person or a bad republican, or in this case both, by not getting offended by my comments, but still if they can't sit at a table with a person with differing views and talk it out, then maybe they don't deserve to get upset in the first place. I just don't want my generation defined by 9/11 in the same way that past generations have said that WWI or WWII were the defining events of their generations. I don't want a war or a tradgedy to define me. Fuck that! Fuck that.
Sincerely,
Scott
PS- I wish a cracka would...
