So I've decided to sign up for
Heroines Fest because I have no will power, and I really like the fic I wrote last time.
Problem is, the limit is three prompts, and um. I've narrowed it down to seven.
So I thought maybe I could put it to a vote?
1. DCU, Barbara Gordon/Koriand'r, instead of Robin & the Titans, Kory bumps into Batgirl and "learns the English language" from her. It's the start of a beautiful friendship.
PROS: I've been wanting to write Babs/Kory for ages.
CONS: I'd have to brush up on Kory.
PROS: I'd have to brush up on Kory.
2. DCU, Cass Cain, Steph Brown, Wendy Harris, and/or Rose Wilson, sharing "my dad the supervillain" stories over coffee.
PROS: This is, like, my dream scene. I'm very comfortable with both Cass and Steph.
CONS: I've never written Wendy or Rose before. Wendy would be easy to canon review, but Rose is complicated.
3. DCU, Renee Montoya/Barbara Gordon, an a/u where Barbara become a cop and they were partners together.
PROS: Barbara. And. Renee.
CONS: Never actually written Renee at any length. I do have most of her Gotham Central + appearances, though.
4. DCU, Stephanie Brown, Stephanie reflects over the bits and pieces of her old costumes
PROS: It's Steph, and I'd love to do a retrospective of her history and how she feels about it.
CONS: I'm not sure how to build a story around it.
5. DCU, Steph Brown, Steph teaches Damian what it means to be Robin.
PROS: It would be hilarious, and I'd like for Damian to grudgingly realise that Stephanie was not, in fact, a bad Robin.
CONS: Not sure how well I can portray Damian.
6. Marvel 616, Anya Corazon/Kate Bishop, training, footrubs, and ice cream sundaes.
PROS: I really want to write Kate in a longer story, and I adore Anya, and look at this pairing.
CONS: I still need to finish Heart of the Spider.
7. Any verse. Focus on any comic book character's mother. What were these women like? Were they kind? Abusive? Neglectful? Intelligent? If they were alive when their son/daughter became a hero, what do they think of this? OR Did these women (ex. Maria Stark, Elizabeth Howlett, Rebecca Banner, Mrs Kent, Martha Wayne, Aunt May, Mary Storm) effect their child's outlook on the world, and so, their personalities, goals, etc?
PROS: I've been wanting to write about Catherine Todd, Thelma Gordon and Crystal Brown for a while now. Or Eleanor Bishop and Sofia Corazon.
CONS: None, really.
So...any you'd particularly like to see?
