1) I kind of liked it because it underscores how kinda fucked up the relationship really is -- which it kinda has to be, choppy and out of order like that. Maybe the apparent lack of issues from before is just too good to be true. Also I think when people use "I live for it" terminology, maybe it's not so much literal as it just means a lot to them? I dunno. Anyway, what I like about it is that Doctor/River isn't this idealized perfect partnership as much now. But I will say this: really, if she isn't scared of him dying, what the hell was that pointless triggerhappy reaction to the astronaut about? And I will DEFINITELY concede that even with the above said, his death should still be more upsetting to think about.
7) Did I miss a line? 'Cause he was like "I'm turning it invisible!" and I was like "OH SO RETRO WHO." Apparently I missed him claiming he'd never done it?
"Amy's grief over the Doctor was really well-done"

14) ...I spoke to this subject in my own reaction post. I won't screech it again here.
1) I don't mind issues. I really love the idea of her being torn and conflicted and confused over this relationship, because it has to be hard for her, hard and complicated. But saying she lives for it, saying him forgetting her is worse than dying? I can say she was using hyperbole for the first, but the second... And the idea of the Doctor having such a massive influence on her as a young girl? Basically directing her path? Skeeves me right out.
7) He certainly didn't seem to know how. I'm not sure how I feel about River piloting the TARDIS better than he does.
"And the idea of the Doctor having such a massive influence on her as a young girl? Basically directing her path? Skeeves me right out."
Yeah...it made me flinch to. I understand that he had to, 'cause of the whole it is written thing, but it's still really creepy -- the choice to tell this story, really -- all the more creepy that he was in love with future her at the time, and even moreso for the fact that it's in reverse time, so the best is already over by the time she's getting ready for it, and she's just chasing nothing and won't stop. And so despite the smiles the flirting teased out of me this ep, it remains a ship I'm not really into, for the whole new reason now that the whole thing is just kind of pitiful. :/
7) Yeah, I don't get this whole knowing how to pilot better than him when he's the one who taught her. He, what, knew how to fly it immaculately and then forgot? What?
It doesn't seem very - Doctor either, like - he's kind of big on independence and choosing your own path. (Unless you're a female companion, apparently, yeah still bitter never mind me.) It seems like if he knows it's predetermined he'd just ease back and let it happen.
I just keep waiting for them to be on the same wavelength, for them to be truly comfortable together, and the sad thing is this means it's never going to happen.
7) Maybe he got better at it and taught her all these new tricks that he doesn't know yet?
Yeah, it seems to me like, coming to realize that's what's happening, he might try to avoid it. Well, this is the season he comes to get any clue about her, so perhaps he will.
Hopefully, by "young girl," she means like Amy's age. That's still called young girl by some (as opposed to little girl, which really only means one thing), and especially if you're thinking back on your earlier days from middle age, it may qualify as such.
ALSO. I guess why it worked out alright to me is 'cause, beyond issues within the relationship, I feel like it works that the very nature of her attitude to the relationship is sorta messed up -- she is, after all, decidedly maintaining a relationship with a guy who is in the constant process of falling out of love with her. Yeah, it turns it into an unpleasant relationship, but when I think about it, given the set up, what else could it be?
