First off sorry I'm late about this but,

The character dynamics just..
WHAT. WHY.
When they were thinking of the storyline for this movie someone must have just been like
"HEY LOOK YURI AND FLYNN'S CHILDHOOD BACK STORY. HEY LOOK DYNAMITE. WEEEE I LOVE IMPLOSIONS. CONFETTI FOR ALLL."
If they were making the movie as a stand off separate from the game I'd be fine, but /seriously/ the inconsistencies were a running on the side of "did the writer of this movie play this game?" Sorry Yoshida Reiko. I enjoyed Tokyo Mew Mew when I was like 5, but my face is now stuck in |: mode for the next hour or two, or maybe forever.
On other note though, I did like Yuri's kick ass moves and Pupede was adorable. Yuri's little messy habits and his mabo curry tibits were fun. Repede's picking up of the spoon in his mouth to copy his dThe backgrounds were done really well and the action scene animations were nice to look at. There were some derp moments with the faces and the 3-D, but going to just write that off as the 'tales animation style'.
Okay back to complaining, but I felt like there wasn't enough development with the 'new characters'. The Captain, I felt like he didn't stand well up against his role as the "Captain I look up to" because besides getting the blastia thingy majigies from Rita and throwing twin #2 to safety, he didn't do shit. Of course I didn't feel happy when he died, but at the same time /I didn't care/. I felt like they could have made his character seem more important if they tied him more with Yuri and Flynn. They did it a little, but it wasn't really enough to make a connection. Couldn't see WHY Yuri left the knights just cause the Captain died.
Also the TWINS. They're cute I admit, but I don't know anything about them beside the fact that one has bigger boobs than the other, one can heal, anddd that I can't tell them apart. Healing girl I can understand, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER ONE? So I could stare at her ta-tas!? WHAT IS THIS DDD:
I did find it kind of amusing that whenever people died everyone just brushed it off, but when the Captain died everyone was like "BAWWWW NOOOO THE CAPTAIN THAT SAID HE DIDN'T WANT MORE PEOPLE DYING BUT RAN STRAIGHT INTO A TRAP KNOWING THAT MORE PEOPLE ARE GONNA DIE, DIEDDDDDslkdjfdf"
Another thing, I don't think it should be a debate on whether or not they wanted this to be a stand alone because they used so many elements from the game AND they tied in the game OP for the end. It just bothered me that it was a question in the tov comm. They meant it to be a prequel because they alluded to so much of it (Yuri blastia, Repede pipe, Alexei's muhahaha evil plan, etc etc). They just didn't do an awesome job at it.
I could rant more, but I think I'll stop LOL
just ahhh the disappoint ): I'm too obsessed with in characterization ORZ.
