Crew stuff.

Oh man, we totally won! Actually, correction, we BOSSED our race. We came in first by a ridiculous amount. If you don't do crew/didn't, you can probably stop reading now; more detail follows.

So basically, the race was a 5k, and I was 2 seat in the V4. Pimpin' pimpin'.. The line-up was Phoebe, Rosa (Twin 1), Sam, Me, and Emma (Twin 2). And it was a head race so it was stutter started, they sent us off with like a length open between boats. So we were supposed to have Strokes right ahead of us, and Stanford Jrs. right behind us, but then Strokes scratched, so we had RCRC A right in front of us. They also had a B and a C four, since it was just all the varsity squad fours going at once.

Rob told us to go hard the first mile, so the first 1500 or so, so we started our high strokes, and our settle, etc. hecka high, at like a 34 then a 30 settle. But then after about 250 meters we were bow to stern with RCRC, and moving. After 500m we were even, and by 1000m in we were open in the lead. In the end, we were 1:15 ahead of them, which is INSANE. Especially because we took the OUTSIDE of the turn. We were supposed to, since we were passing... and that's what you're supposed to do when you're passing, but we never cut back in.

Ha.. and the twins were worried about losing. Goddamn did we boss, though. We seriously dominated the course. We almost caught up with one of the men's varsity 4's, which was the race before us. Now THAT woulda been massive. I'm still hella pumped, though.

And there were sandwiches at the food table again! omg, I had two. I missed race sandwiches so much; they're so deliciously delicious... and I just wanted to eat a million of them.. but then I didn't. Too bad. Instead, I didn't do any homework, and I just sorta hung around. Oh but I met the NOVICES!!! I love them... they look up to us so much. Seriously, one of them was in my way, and I was like, "excuse me" and she was like, "oh, I'm sorry!!!!" and got outta my way hecka fast and it was awesome.

I think that's the end of my story. The race was awesome, and now I have to do history. Poop on a big stick.
