I was at two great gigs over the last two weeks. I was beginning to despair over how bad the situation with live music has gotten over here. Thankfully these two gigs came along and restored my faith.
First up were Audioslave. Let me say first off that I think Chris Cornell is a genius, and if I could have anyones singing voice it would be his. The gig was brilliant. They only have 14 origional songs and they played them beautifully. Then they went on to play several covers -all excellent - especially a cover of the white stripes latest release.
The second gig was Ministry. What a gig. It blew everyone away. The venue was tiny - there were only around 500 of us there. It sold out in a day. They played 3 encores. 2 hours of music. And they hung around afterward so I got to have a bit of a chat with the guitarist. The music was amazing. They played a mix of new and old stuff. My ears were ringing for days but it was worth it
