Queen bees and Wannabes...
Holy crap, am I glad to be out of high school! It was really fun to see Mean Girls with a primarily high school or lower aged audience - ok all h.s or lower, besides Shannon and I ;) It was like a PG-11 version of Thirteen (which is also excellent). The interesting thing, is that this seemingly fluffy movie was actually really good. Its based on the above mentioned book and Tina Fey wrote the screenplay. Lorne Michaels, Amy Poehler, Tim Meadows, and Ana Gasteyer; need I say more? My fellow SNL junkies may enjoy that ;) It was a scarily accurate depiction of high school (but my high school didn't really have "diversity" or Tim Meadows as our principal..or did we?) It was fun and there were good previews ("Sleep Over"); not a bad night. Back to A2 tomorrow...
