I had an awesomely uneventful day today :) I got to splash around in the pool for 3 hrs where I finally broke through with my boys! All of the 9 yr old boys in my group hate girls or anything that has to do with them, still in the "cooty phase," so I decided to show how cool girls were by beating them at their game ;) This included me showing my expertise on the diving board (aka the culmination of all the years of diving and trampoline lessons); "wow Miss Lindsay, you're crazy." It doesn't take much to impress 3rd graders. Some of the "tough" guys still weren't with me so i preceded to defy the laws of probability and make a basket from half court!! I totally flipped out and I know I will NEVER be able to do it again, but it was sweet. So now everything is all roses and teddy bears at the Friendship Center: the boys think I'm a mutant strain of tomboy and the girls like to use their sticky little hands to play with my hair. Not too bad for above minimum wage, eh? AFI's 100 top movie songs is calling me so is "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides. BY the way, this is an excellent book by the same author as The Virgin Suicides about hermaphrodites and the race riots in Detroit! haha It sounds cracked out but its beautifully written and fascinating and comes endorsed by Emily B. Chaloner ;)
Has anyone seen A&E's "Tom Jones"? It is such an amazing movie (anything by A&E is in my book:) Anyway, ummm I have it and I used to watch it once a week. I just found it and I still adore it: me = big dork (Max Beesley from "Glitter" is in it and Samantha Morton "In America" is also in it.)
AFI's 100 Top Movie Songs is on so adios!
