Have you ever watched a movie you loved as a kid recently and thought it kinda sucked?
There are some movies, that even though I love them to bits, are kinda silly.
Take Spiderman, for example. The first time I saw that movie in the cinema it BLEW MY MIND. I was around thirteen or fourteen and I absolutely loved it. I was raving about it. I thought it was absolutely amazing in every way.
The other day I was watching it and I couldn't stop criticising it. Mary-Jane annoyed me for the first time ever. I was like "Jesus, how pathetically co-dependant is this girl? Has she ever considered being single for about ten minutes instead of jumping from guy to guy? And if her boyfriend is a massive snob who gets all his money from his father and thinks the fact that she has a waitressing job is beneath her then why doesn't she DUMP HIM? ...Apart from the fact that he's James Franco and James Franco is HOT? And how stupid can she be to walk into a dark alley ALONE at NIGHT in New York City? AND WHY DOES SHE KEEP WEARING PINK? IT CLASHES REALLY BADLY WITH HER HAIR!!" And alot of the Goblin stuff annoyed me too. I was watching him flying around and thinking "Dude, why don't the military show up and blast the shit out of him? He's showed up in public enough times for them to be onto him. At least in X-men they came up with excuses as to why people couldn't see their Jet." But then again, I am living in a post 9/11 world and this movie was filmed before that. And I guess so was X-men. Plus there's that scene where he pulls a baby out of a burning building and the police STILL want to arrest him. WHAT THE HELL.
...but I still love it to death. Really. It always makes me smile.
In other news I went to my body-step class this morning and noticed I look thinner in the mirror. Yay! Also, I've been going out alot more often lately. I've been seeing Jade more and making her watch the Back To The Future movies. I was shocked and appalled when I heard she'd never seen any of them.
By now you're probably gasping for air and flailing in terror. I know, I know. I was shocked too. It's okay. Take a deep breath and have a glass of water. I'm rectifying the situation, so it's all going to be alright. She's already seen the first one now, so she's a third of her way there.
Suzie's fashion show was a couple of days ago and it was really fun. Not all of them were designed by Suze, it was a showcase from her fashion school. Some of the designs were AWFUL and some were great. Suze's were all great of course. The models were provided by an agency, and some of them, like the clothes, were terrible, and others good. Every now and then a really good one would come out though, and really sell the outfit. One of the best ones was a girl in a HIDEOUS ruffled dress towards the beginning, and she went out there and worked it like it was the greatest outfit ever. Alot of the other models walked out with no attitude except "Yes, I know this outfit is horrible.." OH and there was one model I felt really BAD for. She was in this totally see-through top, hideous jacket and skirt that looked like it was made out of multicoloured belt ends. She walked out practically flashing everyone and had this look on her face which was like "this is so humiliating". Poor girl. Oh, and the speaker for the night was really really bad. She kept screwing up basic words and at one point she forgot to mention two people who were really important to the show. The whole audience was cringeing. But like I said at the beginning, it was really fun.
I guess I watch "America's Next Top Model" too much.
