I came to kirkwood and I approached the entire situation with an open mind. I was immediately pleased and happy with the school, and pleased and happy with this town. But I always find myself missing des moines. I came up last weekend and drove by hoover to see everyone unloading costumes and I felt a little void, like I was excluded from a fun game by the other kids on the playground. I know that I wasn't excluded from anything, but I do miss how much fun I had then. And I miss my family, even though my current record for being away from home is like 11 days or something.
