YFC RANT

OK, so most people will probably know by now that GACKT's coming back to Europe this summer for another tour - in the UK, I'd gladly go see him again, and I reckon he'd still sell out in half an hour even if he chose a huge venue like the O2 or the Apollo. But there is one issue - it's still YFC. Doesn't anyone else think he's milking this one a little toooo much?

I mean, YFC is great, and I'd surely go see GACKT regardless of what he was playing, but this "era" has been going on since the end of RRII, which is like... late 2009(?) The only new song we've seen since then is EVER, and the B-Side was just that remix of uncontrol. So there's a new single scheduled for July, which means by the time he's back in Europe, we might have a slight change of setlist, but I bet the B-Side on that will be either the remix of Koakuma Heaven or the English version of mind forest. (I dare you to release TWO new songs, G). YFC is just getting too tedious after all the DVDs and documentaries and live recordings - from my own audio rips alone, there's three separate YFC gigs, and only one of them I believe is actually from a DVD release.

Secretly, I hope the setlist has a complete overhaul. I can cope with the typical YFC songs - at most, he could keep ZAN, Speed Master, Lu:na, mind forest, EVER, Jesus and Flower. But I hope something new is thrown in to keep it at least a little bit fresh. Something like Dispar would go down an absolute scream and Noesis could also fit in nicely. Going older, he could include Papa Lapped a Pap Lopped, or even REDEMPTION which may well be the first song of his that foreign fans heard. (I'd totally love him to do LONGING live, seeing as he hasn't yet~)

As a final comment, I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking: RELEASE NEW SONGS, GACKT. Fine, you're on an endless tour schedule, but we haven't had a real album since Diabolos in 2005. After all, RE:BORN was just all the previous singles and their B-Sides, so it wasn't really a NEW album. Even the album versions of previous songs were worse than the originals (with the exception of Jesus), and there were no new ones at all. MUST TRY HARDER!

So anyway, what do you guys think? Has YFC been going on too long? What new songs should he feature if he decides to change the setlist?
