Strange snapshot of my life
First of all, I remain intoxicated. More on that in a bit.
I awoke today, a bit later than planned, to another crazily planned day in the DiPietro household. It took relatively little time to discover that my best customer had had another rough night using the software I'd sold them not too long ago. This drama has been going on for many weeks. On the one hand, we have hundreds if not thousands of customers using this software without any of the issues in play here. On the other, this customer has had legitimate issues that we have failed to entirely resolve.
Neither I nor Mrs. shmike was pleased with this occurring on the weekend. But there you have it. Of course, though this has been ongoing (and painful) this time was different. As it turns out, the customer decided at 3pm on Saturday that we had until 5pm on sunday to reinstall software using our resources and show that it worked completely or else they were going with out software.
Anyway, we'd had plans all week for a night out with friends. We had a baby sitter and reservations as a nice steakhouse. I opted to ignore calls (including from my boss) and go out. I ate and drank my share and had one of the nicest nights I've had in quite some time.
Now to recover and hope that the shit doesn't hit the fan (again) tonight.
