This week I've obsessed about shoes, makeup, and dresses. I'm not big on gendering, but this is pretty non-standard behaviour for me as a person! Last week I got the invitation for the British Red Cross Garden Party and realised that I had remembered the date wrong, and so began a week of panicked shopping. The always awesome Jo helped me get my dress sorted out (which arrived today), and I managed to find shoes and a functional-but-fancy bag yesterday. I dug through my makeup and found a new mascara that I got last summer that hadn't been opened/used, but was still good and non-clumpy, and found other makeup stuff I needed today. I'm planning my self-pedi for next Tuesday (conveniently I got a bunch of foot care stuff free with a Body Shop order last month) and just need to decide if I want to wear something silly in my hair. Travel is sorted, even though it's a ridiculous plan, but I'll be with people I know all day so I won't be standing awkwardly if presented to Prince Charles or something.
This all isn't me, but at the same time, it is totally me. I wear makeup when I can be bothered, I love to look at awesome shoes, and I know my style. I just don't get a chance to be this Susan very much. It'll be fun to be her for a day, even if it'll be back to black slacks and a purple polo on the next day. I am comfortable as that Susan too.
Now I just need to decide if I want to chalk my hair!
