We've been running on very tight finances since mid-September or so. The switch-over in income from Olly to me has taken a while, and hasn't been without hiccups. Hopefully everything will be ironed out by the end of this month, though by next week it will be almost where we were before, and things will be much more comfortable

I also buy Japanese rice to make onigiris, like this I can just make "snacky" portions to eat whenever. I know, probably not ideal in terms of MFP, but I like a quick bite from time to time and it's cheaper than cereal bars...
Anyway, yeah slow cookers are good, the only problem here is that the humidity level is so high I'd rather avoid releasing too much steam in the air when cooking. We bought a dehumidifier but still, it's scary to see we "produce" over 3L of water a day Dx At least we don't have to use the AC so much like this as it makes the temperature a lot more bearable.
As for our rice cooker, it's got loads of different modes, so we can use it as a slow cooker too ^_^ It even has a cake baking function :D I thought it could be useful as we don't have a proper oven, just a micro-wave.
On the job hunting front, I still can't find anything irl so I've started looking for freelance projects online. Not ideal at all but I want to avoid having another gap on my CV yet stay available at short notice if some opportunity arises, and even if projects are not paid very well at least I can keep my tools sharp. At the moment I'm writing some articles but it's paid so little that it's pretty much pro bono work just to get some kind of positive review... :/ Anyway, hopefully this can keep me somewhat sane for the time being ^_^;;
Anyway, good luck on the job hunting front. Stay strong, you'll find something eventually <3 <3
