The other day we got an email from Olly's dad saying that a relative was putting up their house for rent, and that it would be in our price-range so maybe worth looking at (we're having a lot of issues with our current realtor, as much as I'm happy with the place we're living in).
Anyway, we just got back from seeing it, and it's a nice semi-detached (one shared wall) old farmhouse, probably around 1800-1840s. The problem is that it's very outdated, and amongst other things has no central heating. The house is VERY spacious, has loads more storage in the house, and a big workshop building in the back that would basically be another room (playroom for claire, more storage, craft room, or both). I don't really care about outdated kitchen units, and the oven/stove are gas so that's fairly reliable, and there's room in a sortof conservatory area for a large chest freezer so the tiny fridge won't be a problem. The bathroom is pretty tiny, but the units are OK (the bathtub isn't ideal but it passes the test for my Lush needs ;P). It's just that we will need to buy electric radiators, rugs, etc. to keep the house warm in the winter. And there's always the risk that one of the older appliances goes, etc...
I just am not sure what to do. The rent isn't all that much cheaper and we'd still have to find a deposit, but it's SO MUCH SPACE.
