Lush stuff & politics

As much as I love Lush, and a lot of their company policies, I can't stand behind some of their charities that they support. Some are just obviously contradictory (vegans &/or vegetarian societies) with my lifestyle, but others just don't sit right with me. I won't be supporting their latest main sponsorship, which is for Sea Shepherd, an organisation which sails the seas looking for poachers, shark finning, over-fishing. Some of the stuff they do is just too vigilante to me. In the same way, I bought one of their products in support of Reprieve, but I don't really like the whole black and white that surrounds the organisation. Human rights/dissolution of Gitmo, sure- but fair trial to me seems to mean something different.

Anyway, I don't mean to get political- I'm not very fond of discussing politics because there are rare occasions where people agree, and I don't like arguing. I think I get that from my mom. I will whole-heartedly support Lush's palm-free soap bases, the usage of solids vs liquids to cut down on shipping space and waste, and all that other stuff... but I will never be able to buy Charity Pot, a lotion they do, simply because SOME of the money is in aid to charities and organisations which I do not agree with. I just hope this new Shark Fin Soap isn't awesome, or I may have to get it anyway :P

In other Lush stuff, my stash is too huge right now. I'm now not allowing myself to buy ANY of some things which I have too much of, like shower gel. The problem is that when something new comes out I buy it to try it out, and I just don't need to. Mostly I'm not paying for Lush these days, but £48 of free Lush is still a lot of stuff, and I really didn't need another new piece of soap when I have easily 15 to use. I'm going to do an inventory soon, I'll show you just what I'm talking about. Ballistics and bubble bars at least go quickly... but I have so much damn shower gel...
