Something happened on the way to the... webforum?

Last weekend I had decided to go up to London because I'd heard there was a Cinnibon that opened there, the first one in the UK. A bit lame of an excuse, but it was set. A few days after I'd decided that (maybe 2 weeks before or so) Sean Mason messaged me saying he'd be in London for a bit for work, incidentally on the same weekend! My excuse for going was changed, and I went down Friday evening on my own. Met up with people in Leicester Square, but I got there just after they'd been seated for a meal in Chinatown, so had a bit of time to kill. I've never really been in Central London that late in the evening (8pm or so) and it was a bit surprising to me as to how busy it was. It made sense- friday evening in what appeared to be a huge hub of movie theatres. The square had a poker festival of some sort set up as well, so there was a fair amount of traffic and my initial worries about killing an hour in a city I didn't know were quickly quelled- I felt safe, sat on a bench, journalled, people-watched, and listened to music. After meeting up with people, the group split and Chris, Rachel, and I headed back to Chris's place. We stopped along the way for me to buy weekend binging essentials (booze, cranberry juice, and fags- hurrah!) before settling in for a good night of Singstar.

Saturday, after breakfast at the Wetherspoons/Lloyds, we went into the city to find Sean, who had arrived early that morning. It took a while to get to where he was because the central tube line was down due to 'a person under the train'. Lovely. 2nd time that's happened while I've been in London. We eventually found Sean and wandered around Central London, stopping at Covent Garden Lush (where I persuaded other people to buy things, and was a good girl myself!), the Troc, and my first experience with any sort of sushi bar, though I merely observed. Annoyingly, I spaced on the whole Cinnibon thing, but it was probably for the best as I'd treated myself (ha) to a dark mocha frap earlier. :P

That evening we went back to Chris's to make spaghetti and hang out. Initially I had planned to take the last train out on Saturday night, but Sean convinced me to stay so we could hang out for longer, and no matter how much I tried to get Olly to admit he wanted me home, he didn't. (He and Claire seemed to have a lot of fun with me gone, is that telling me something?) So, another night of drunken Singstar and X Factor watching, a lot of nostalgia, and general fun. We sent Sean home on a bus at like 4am, which in retrospect was a very drunk move but hey, he got back alright.

All in it was a really great weekend, met some good new people, and caught up with some oldschool friends. I had reserved feelings about seeing Sean, just because it's been so long and there have been a few people I've tried to keep in touch with where it's just... awkward. But seeing Sean felt *exactly* like it used to, only we're older, wiser, and have more stories to tell now. I really hope he moves here like he's thinking of doing, it would be awesome to have him around.
