Okay, so I'm bored as hell.

Jan 10, 2007 21:03

I seriously have nothing to do. I'm so unproductive that I actually looked up quotes from Shakespeare and didn't spell his name correctly.

Hm, so today in Life Skills, we started learning how to sew.

All this is so pointless towards to the person (if anyone) who's reading this. Sorry if I've already bored you to death.

*five minutes later*

Miyun-chan and I were talking the other day about why people believe in God, how the world was created, politics, and the violence that occurs when political groups clash.

So what if they have different opinions? It's only how we think; nothing more. Yet people still argue with an unneeded fire that leads to them hating each other. What's the point of that? Why should there be bickering groups that are quarreling over the stupidest things? All they have to do is talk. No shouting is needed. No hard feelings.

I'm rambling.

This person in my class wrote an essay for our local newspaper. The question for the topic of the essay was, "If you could succeed at any one thing and not fail, what would it be?" The person in my class said that he would want to acquire "world peace." But what is the point of world peace when all of it could lead to something even worse? If everything bad were to stop happening, less people would be dying, thus the problem with overpopulation would increase and get worse. The world die, and the efforts to creating "world peace" is totally useless. The world right now is already not perfect. It'll be impossible to make the world "perfect." If it were perfect, there would be no world. Nothing would exist. Nothing at all. Why do some people still strive for world peace though? Yes, there may be wars going on everywhere, and beggars may be on the streets their whole lives, but what would happen if there were no wars, no beggars? Probably in the future, there would be more beggars, for reasons that I am currently too lazy to type.

I'm rambling again.

And all this leads to my old quote, "The stupidity of humans these days."

Miyun-chan and I were talking about the above paragraph about world peace. This is what we came up with.

Me: hm........

Miyun-chan: but in a sense, i think it's okay to strive for world peace because it won't happen.
the mindset is an important one because at least it injects some kind of pointless idealistic hope into people.

Me: true......

Miyun-chan: just like god

Me: but what's the point?

Miyun-chan: but i digress

Me: heh

Miyun-chan: the point of world peace is the attainment of utopia, which cannot and will never exist.

Me: then they're just wasting their time striving for it.
There's no point.

Miyun-chan: there is.

Me: ._."
what?
what's the point of striving for something when you know it's impossible?

Miyun-chan: because as long as they believe it could happen, to them it will. They dont know that it's impossible. they entertain the hope that it is, and they try to disillusion others into believing it too.
it's hope
and humans, sutpid as we are, need hope.

Me: hope.....
(( I still think it's a waste of time... >_> ))

Miyun-chan: and the fact that you and i see it as impossible is deeply cynical and probably true. Most cynics are right.

Me: huh.

Miyun-chan: some people would say that believing in god is a waste of time
:P

Me: yar.

Miyun-chan: but look how many people do that?

Me: yeah...
it's sorta like...

Miyun-chan: also, they don't see "world peace" as a step in the ladder of life.

Me: us wanting to meet KenKen IRL or something.

Miyun-chan: they see it as the end,

Me: impossible, but a dream.

Miyun-chan: haha yes!

Me: or hope.
=]
In our fantasies.

Miyun-chan: <33

Me: it's real
but irl, it'll never happen.
at least, a very small chance.

Miyun-chan: the fact that we know it will never happen doesn't stop us from wishing it.

Me: yeah.
So it's just desire that keeps us believing.

Miyun-chan: and that "a very small chance" is what is important. :3.. human beings take that small chance and multiply it

Me: yep.

politics, rambling, world peace
