i just wanted to see angel. :)
I figure i'm bored at work so I'll grace ya'll with an update. :) Last nite I went with Sean to a friend of his from high school's wedding. It was ... something. Hyper-Religious? check. long? check. cult-ish? check. but it was nice to see Sean all dressed up. He's a cutie that one. As for the wedding we were at ... weird. The ceremony was held in the same place as the reception. It was in this ballroom-style hall in Puyallup (not a pretty town). So during the ceremony we were all just sitting at our dinner tables. The food was already on the buffets in the back during the ceremony too. Like I mentioned, it was Hyper Religious and no booze was served. no big really. but there were times when I couldn't tell if I was at a wedding or a christian revival; it teetered between the two so much. I get that they're really into their faith and that's probably the basis for their marriage. no fault there. but the many many re-affirmations of Jesus entering into their lives was a little much for me. It just felt cult-ish. And at one point, and i thought this odd-you can contradict, the pastor guy made reference to the couple's sexual intimacy. That is not something I would want said in front of a bunch of my friends and family.
beyond that, i was being really judgmental of the design of the programs because well ... i had nothing else to do. It looked like they just made them from home, not a bad money-saving endeavor. but they used the Jokerman font for all the display names (it's a standard Microsoft font, you probably have it if you want to see it) and then Comic Sans for all the expository copy. it look awful. and it was printed in black ink on this dark cyan-ish blue cardstock, so it was real hard to read anyway. and in one of the "We'd like to thank ..." paragraphs, they were going on and on about how helpful the wedding party was. and they thanked them for the paTIENTS. yep. the physicians in their wedding party apparently offered up their clients to assist in preparing the wedding. i was reading the program during the ceremony and almost started laughing. i had to hold it in. :/ Also apparently throughout the wedding and ceremony sean was dropping a bunch of swear words. i didn't hear em bc i don't even notice it. i guess his roomies had to tell him to hush it up. *shrug* people need to not be so uptight.
Tho I think my favorite part of the evening was when Sean introduced me to the groom as "his friend ashley." Not that I REALLY wanted him to use the girlfriend label. I'm kinda relieved he didn't. but the way his roomies have been calling him my boyfriend to my face, i was quite expecting it. Later on in the nite back at his house, the smart ass that i am goes to him, "What up Friend?" Luckily for me he knew i was kidding around. He says, "what was I supposed to say? 'Jeff, I'd like you to meet the girl i met on the street and whom followed me in for food?' " I laughed. But later on in the nite when he told me thanks for going, i said, "No problem. That's what friends are for." yeah. I'm a brat. Oh and my second favorite part of the nite was when his ex called while we were making out. that was hot. *insert BIG eye roll and head shake* I hope all are well. PEACE!
