Everything in the universe is in constant motion; nothing ever stands still; it's a dance of some sort i would presume.

Sound is simply vibrations of air, and without air we wouldn't have sound. This means that sound in the universe is limited only to planets which contain atmospheres. Our ears are organs that pick up and detect sound, however there is a clear and distinct difference between a sound and music to us humans.
Music occurs when there is a pattern to these tones and noises. There is a distinct rhythm, and also a very clear and distinct spacing between the tones. For some reason our minds find it pleasureable. The spacing between the tones on a scale is very important. In western music the Tonic (1st note of a scale), 3rd, 5th and 7th notes of a major scale create a major chord and ironically the 3rd, 5th and 7th notes on a scale can be present when only the tonic note is played if there is enough resonance (this is called an overtone). This means that even before the exhistence of humans there has always exhisted a major chord, and ironically as far as I know humans are probably one of the only animals able to detect one. is music a creation of God? you find that each and every culture on this earth has some form of dancing and music (dancing being the movement of the body in a pattern that coincides with music). Judeo-Christians believe that music and dancing edifies God and pleases him, basically assuming that music and dancing is heaven-sent.
Regardless of religious beliefs it is widely accepted that dancing and music brings us humans to another level of conciousness and another plane of exhistence. What i find completely fascinating is that music itself seems to have exhisted before humans. What exactly this means depends on who you are and your beliefs, however you cannot deny the profound impact music and dancing has on our lives.
