Looking forward

Well, as I somewhat anticipated, I was laid off today. I knew it was a matter of time, and suspected I'd be next in line after the last few lay-offs. Most of the departments are run by a single person, and mine, as slow as it was, had three people, so I had a feeling it was coming. I'm a little bummed, in theory, but it's somewhat of a relief. I wasn't enjoying it, and I hated being bored by noon.

When I left work this morning, I took a walk downtown, called my dad, and arranged to have lunch with Amanda (Indian, yum!). Now, I'm just chillin' with my cats.

I will use this time to push through a few goals, and turn up the job-applying dial. The weather's been nice, so I'll enjoy it while I run a few errands; and Dad wants me to come up for a visit, so I'll probably head to Ft Mac on Monday (since weekends don't matter!) for a few days. :)

Clem has a surprise dinner planned this weekend, but he won't tell me where we're going!

I started a design blog recently. I haven't "officially" announced it, as I'd like to get a few more portfolio-related posts up, and design a header, but here it is: TCDP (Tess Chappell Design + Photo). Today's post is about the bathroom symbols - apparently, they were designed by a Canadian! I learned that while watching the Rick Mercer Report. Neat!

Oh, and crazy news: I'm going to be a great-aunt! My 19-year-old niece is pregnant. I hope for the best, despite a messy situation. Caitlin, her mom, and her friends live a very small town, high school soap opera life.
