Girl's night in

My character in Gary's online comic has finally been introduced! Yay! I'm the obsessive shutterbug. How perfect. Here is his website, Drawing Blanks, and I have placed today's comic behind the cut:

This comic is influenced by one of my favourite online comics, Real Life Comics, but being that it is all about his friends from back in Newfoundland, there are lots of inside jokes. I don't understand the references myself, and the site is still under construction, but it's worth looking through for the time being. I admire the work he's been putting in lately toward his site. He wants me to draw a guest comic for it, so I might give that a shot.

I haven't updated in a bit. Ski trip to Golden, B.C. was fun, despite a few minor piss-offs from arrogant skiers who weren't terribly sympathetic toward my total amateur status. Oh well, I still had lots of fun! I took a lesson early Saturday morning to get warmed up, and that was fun. I threw up on the busride there Friday night. Not so much fun. Sandria walked up to the front for paper towels, and all I could hear were Cory and Les from work yelling, "Was it Tesh? It was Tesh that got sick, wasn't it? Was it Tesh?" (Tesh is my nickname at work, originating from a Chinese coworker who pronounces my name that way.)

Tracey, due to the epitome of retarded corporate politics, was fired from her position as Suncor MVU lead and demoted to "gopher" for various projects back in my old building. I'm so pissed off for her. She was replaced by someone from IT with minimal document control experience. I don't dislike her or disrespect her by any means, but it's just so unfair to see the wrong people getting all the advantages and promotions lately. The biggest piss-off of them all would definitely have to be the revelation that Lyn has been promoted to the DMG's discipline deputy chief, working under Karen. Lesson of the day: Screw hard work! Just screw someone in management, and you'll get what you want! It's not even about who you know, it's about who you fuck.

Since transferring to Suncor, I have met an old friend of my dad's, Max, on the project. I also bumped into Andre LeFebvre, who works for Suncor in Ft Mac! Dad said I should let Max know that I want a new job, because he would be in the position to put in a lot of good words for me, so I might just do that. Max is very nice; he called me into his office the other day to chat about my parents, Newfoundland, etc.

This weekend, everyone in my building will be moving to try and reorganise the teams and projects, so I'm no longer sitting with Cory. :( It was nice sitting with him, if only for two weeks. He gave me two of his plants for my cubicle, and we went for lunch together most days with a couple of his friends (Les and Jason). Damn... crush resurfacing. He reminds me a lot of Andre (good and bad). Friday after Cory left for the weekend, Les opened up Cory's moving box to steal his stapler. They're always playing jokes on each other. I asked Les if I could take it instead, and we both agreed Cory wouldn't expect me on Monday when he goes looking for it. It's not just any stapler! It's Milton's red Swingline 747 stapler from Office Space! How great is that?

Jenn and I are having a girl's night tonight. We went curtain shopping with her mom today, and afterwards we went and bought junk food for our movie night. We just finished watching RENT and now we're watching Bridget Jones's Diary (we're currently at the scene with the tarts and knickers, hehe). We decided this movie would have to curb our Hugh Grant craving, since we originally went to the theatre to watch Music and Lyrics, not knowing it only plays on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On that note, I should get back to watching the movie. Have a good weekend, everyone!
