”私はあくまで執事ですから。”

Just finished watching the entire anime series for Kuroshitsuji in two days. It started out nicely-paced and hilarious but towards the end, it was just ridiculous. The whole angel and demon standoff is so overdone that I couldn't stop rolling my eyes, especially when they made the angel the crazy, obsessive antagonist.

The production crew are professionals. Can they not think of a more creative alternative end without bringing in the crazy angel? Anyhoo, I heard that Kuroshitsuji is going to enjoy a second season run. I hope it does its popularity justice and not just repeat all the things that made it interesting in season one.

Heck, maybe they really should make the butler have sex with his charge just to twist things up a little.

Title: In That Dream
Type: Drabble
Fandom: 黒執事
Summary: The armchair, his father and the fire eating up Phantomhive mansion. It's always the same dream until the small details change without him knowing.

An armchair, an unconscious body and dancing flames closing in. Ciel has seen this scene so many times that even the unimportant details has been seared into his memory. But how accurate are those details, really? He only revisits that scene in his head; in his dreams.

He isn't even aware when those details start to change. When the fires alter colour; less earthly red and yellow; more otherworldly. When the mantelpiece at the far end morphs into a black oily altar he doesn't recognise.

Even the person in the armchair. Ciel had been so sure it is his father sitting there. No wait, his mother. No, it is his mother and father. But neither of his parents have black hair. So who? Sebastian?

Why is Sebastian the one sitting there? Why is he not running from the flames? Is he unconscious? Is he impervious to them because he is a demon? But fire hurts, doesn't it? Sticky heat and searing numbness. Why isn't Sebastian moving?

"Se......bastian."

He doesn't even realise how weak his voice has become. Before he could scream his heart out for his mother and/or father to leave; to get up and save themselves. To hurry before the fire kills them. Why is his voice so small for Sebastian? Is it because he...is less important?

"Move...Se.bas.tian."

Sebastian is the only one who isn't dead. Will not die. Cannot die.

"It's an order. Move."

As always, the person in the armchair doesn't move. That is the one thing that doesn't change. No matter who is sitting in it. Sometimes the armchair looks a little like a throne. Not as splendorous as the Queen's, of course, but a throne nonetheless. As the flames creep closer, the whole place looks like hell. And Sebastian looks like king.

"I beg you. Move."
