summary Jung Yunho or - as his colleagues call him - 'The Stone' is the most uptight person sexy rockstar Kim Jaejoong has ever met,but that is by no means a valid reason for the ethereal singer to stop himself from hiring the handsome bachelor as his attorney...much to Yunho's displeasure.Add Jaejoong's snarky bodyguard, greasy manager and palm-tree obsessed best friend and watch how Jung Yunho fights his way through the most ridiculous time of his life.

„Are you sure you want to do this?” Yunho asked as he watched his boyfriend playing with the silver bracelet gracing his left wrist, the singer's eyes focused on nothing in particular until Yunho caught his attention.

Jaejoong gave him a tired smile in return, Chang Wook's demand having made him restless during every single night since Yoochun told him about it. Despite the CEO making it clear that he did not intend on forcing Jaejoong into anything, he still thought it was a good idea to let Chang Wook and Jaejoong have a final talk and settle everything once and for all.

And despite everyone including himself thinking the exact opposite, Jaejoong agreed to meet up with Chang Wook. He was tired of this fight and wanted it to end as soon as possible now that he had the chance of starting a new chapter in his life with Yunho by his side. He wanted to get rid of everything bad and Chang Wook was by far the darkest spot in his past.

“No I'm not. I-” Jaejoong chuckled sadly as he looked down for a split second before meeting his boyfriend's eyes. “I don't want to do this. But I need to do it.”

Yunho didn't like it how Jaejoong forced himself through this, but he understood why Jaejoong felt the need to do it. So he didn't attempt to talk him out of this any further and merely leaned forward to stretch out his arms across the table and get a hold of Jaejoong's soft hands, squeezing them assuringly.

They shared a loving gaze, their lips turned upwards into a smile before a cough coming from the door caused them to break their eye contact.

Sangwoo, the colleague and friend Yunho entrusted Jaejoong's case to, stood there with his briefcase in his right hand and a teasing grin on his lips. “I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's time.”

Jaejoong took a deep breath and nodded before slowly untangling his hands from Yunho's, not missing to exchange sweet 'I love yous' with his boyfriend before stepping out of the small conference room.

Sangwoo watched as Jaejoong approached Changmin and Han Geng, the presence of his bodyguards during the talk between him and Chang Wook having been the one condition which Jaejoong insisted on pushing through while negotiating with Chang Wook's attorney prior to the meeting. He was not going to go there unguarded and Sangwoo was glad that Jaejoong had been so stubborn about it.

The young attorney then looked at his friend and smiled. “Don't worry. He'll be safe.”

Yunho nodded wordlessly and leaned back as Sangwoo walked away and led Jaejoong towards a meeting room on another floor where they were going to meet Chang Wook and his attorney. The steps of Jaejoong and the others have barely gone quiet when Yoochun stepped into the room with a bottle of water and some snacks for Yunho, wordlessly joining him as he sat down on the chair Jaejoong had occupied earlier.

The attorney smiled in gratitude. “Thank you.”

Yoochun nodded, sporting a smile as well.

Chang Wook chuckled once Jaejoong has settled down on the chair across from him, the singer's bodyguards choosing to stand by the wall right behind Jaejoong. “You think I'd try something with our attorneys here so you had to bring those two with you?”

Before Jaejoong could reply, Sangwoo spoke up with a dangerous glint in his eyes. “I hope that was your lack of articulateness showing itself instead of you implying that you'd try something if you two were alone, or else this meeting ends right this instant and I'll make sure to have you grovel in the court room in a heartbeat.”

“I'm sure that Mr. Ji did not intend on implying anything of that sort.” Chang Wook's attorney replied curtly before looking at his client as if encouraging him to confirm his words.

Chang Wook leaned back and although the smirk remained on his lips, there was great respect shown in the way he looked at Sangwoo. “I apologize. I was just clumsy with my wording.”

Sangwoo nodded, his stern gaze not wavering for even a bit. “Well Mr. Park and Mr. Ji, since you insisted on talking to my client, I assume that you're trying to aim for an out-of-court settlement.”

“We are of the opinion that it would be in everyone's interest to drop the case and settle everything between clients and attorneys.” Mr. Park spoke up. “My client is willing to pay the sum you have demanded and even more if you agree to forget about everything in return.”

“I can't see how it's going to be in my client's interest to agree.” Sangwoo furrowed his eyebrows as he eyed Mr. Park and Chang Wook. “The money is not what my client wants. It's just a sweet extra.”

“Mr. Kim is a public figure and every step he makes is being watched by the media. We all know that news of this case is going to spread fast and it is most likely going to attract more attention than your client would like it to.”

Sangwoo could barely hold back a scoff as he listened to what Mr. Park had to say and it got even harder for him to school his mimics when he saw the smirk Chang Wook wore on his lips. He would've really liked to wipe it off his face personally. He parted his lips, ready to answer when he took a glance at Jaejoong and found himself stilling to marvel at what he saw in the singer's eyes.

The fire burning in those big orbs was fascinating and Sangwoo was not planning on restricting it.

“I think we should hear out what my client has to say to your offer.” Sangwoo said, loving the way Jaejoong's gaze hardened as he started to speak, the singer's focus unwavering as he stared at his ex-boyfriend.

He knew he was gambling by letting his client talk without agreeing on the things to be said beforehand, but he doubted he was going to lose this one.

“I don't need your money. It was just an extra and I would trait it for the sight of you sitting in a court room and having to reveal your true personality to everyone any time. If you want to talk about the attention the case is going to attract, I don't think that I am the one who should be worried.” Jaejoong leaned back and crossed his legs with a lazy smile on his lips. “There is a way for you to use media to your advantage though. Hold a press conference and admit to the world that you have been lying. Reveal the true reason behind our break up.”

“How would that be to my client's advantage?” Mr. Park frowned as he spoke.

“I'm giving him the chance to reveal the truth himself before my attorney and I do it in the court room. He can squeeze in a fake apology and crocodile tears if he wants to.” The singer refused to break the eye-contact with Chang Wook even as he replied to the other man's attorney. “Trust me, him coming forward to admit his wrongdoings and apologizing for them on his own will is going to make things end a lot better for him than the trial will.”

By the time Jaejoong has gone silent once again, Sangwoo felt so giddy he thought the happiness was going to make his heart burst. The look on Chang Wook's and Mr. Park's faces alone was already worth coming here and he had a feeling that he was going to enjoy fighting for Jaejoong very much.

Just then, Jaejoong rose himself off the chair. “We're done here.”

He did not wait for any reply, making determined steps towards the door before exiting the room with Changmin and Han Geng behind him.

“You can't just leave like this!” Mr. Park cried out.

“I beg to differ.” Sangwoo replied with a playful smile on his lips before getting up to follow his client. “See you in court.”

Once he was outside, Sangwoo closed the door behind him and smiled in reassurance once he spotted the troubled look on Jaejoong's face, the singer most probably being worried about possibly having gone too far.

“You did great, Jaejoong ssi.” Sangwoo assured, smiling a tad bit wider when he saw the singer breathing out in relief. “You handled the situation more than well.”

“I actually had much more to say.” Jaejoong admitted.

“I bet you did.” The attorney replied and led Jaejoong back to where Yunho was most probably waiting for them. “I've spent less than ten minutes in the same room with him and have already gathered over twenty very non-family friendly words to call him by.”

Jaejoong couldn't help but let out a light chuckle at that, enjoying the attorney's snide remarks. He reminded Jaejoong of a combination of his boyfriend and Changmin. He seemed to be just as ruthless as Yunho was when it came to aiming to win the case and yet he had a very playful but snarky side to him which reminded Jaejoong so much of Changmin.

“I have a feeling that Changmin was thinking of just as many ways of inflicting pain on him in the meantime.” Hang Geng looked at his partner with a smile of amusement on his lips which only itensified when Changmin managed to smile almost sheepishly in return.

“If he would've given me a reason, I would've known how to put those methods to good use.”

And while Jaejoong and Han Geng chuckled, neither of them doubted the truth behind those words for even a bit.

Jaejoong knew he could always count on Changmin to be there and protect and defend him if needed, having entrusted his life to the younger male for so many years now that having Changmin near him could make him feel safer by a tenfold within seconds. And he could see himself trusting Han Geng nearly as much one day.

As they walked further away from where they have been meeting up with Chang Wook and his attorney, Jaejoong could feel himself relaxing more with each step he made as his feet carried him towards his boyfriend and his safe embrace. The sense of safety he felt while being with Yunho was just as intense as the one he felt when being surrounded by Changmin and Yoochun, although there was something entirely different about the feeling he got while being with his boyfriend which did not only make him feel safe but almost invincible.

Jaejoong smiled at the thought and when he caught Changmin looking at him questioningly after they have entered an elevator, the singer merely shook his head dismissively while his smile grew a tad bit wider.

The elevator ride was mostly done in silence, with only Changmin interrupting the quietness for a brief moment by muttering about how the walk back and forth between the two meeting rooms took longer than the meeting itself. That earned him grins of amusement from his companions.

Once they were back on the floor where they started off earlier, Jaejoong was the first one to get out of the elevator. His quickening steps echoed through the almost empty hallway and the sound must've been loud enough to catch Yunho's attention as the attorney stepped out of the meeting room in an obvious haste even before Jaejoong was able to reach it.

Worry was apparent in Yunho's eyes, the fear about his boyfriend having been harmed by Chang Wook in any way and the lack of knowledge about the conversation's outcome marking his face with signs of discomfort. Only when Jaejoong smiled and threw his arms around him with a call of the attorney's name leaving his lips did Yunho relax and engulf the singer in the warm embrace Jaejoong had been yearning to receive.

Yoochun soon stepped out as well to see what was going on, his lips automatically curving up into a smile upon spotting the couple. The manager then looked at Sangwoo.

“How did it go?”

“Very well.” Sangwoo replied and gestured towards Jaejoong, his gaze meeting Yunho's as he looked the couple's way. “He did great.”

Yunho seemed proud to say the least and when the couple pulled apart, the attorney made sure to press a swift kiss onto his boyfriend's forehead. Jaejoong turned around to face Sangwoo and his bodyguards, his right arm wrapped around Yunho's waist while the taller man had his left arm draped around Jaejoong's shoulders as if they were not willing to let go of each other any time soon.

“We will have to wait and see what they want to do next, but the way I see it, they don't really have many choices and are going to cave in eventually if they don't want this to turn into a full blown legal battle. Things are looking good for us.” Sangwoo smiled at the look of relief crossing everyone's faces.

“What do you mean they 'are going to cave in eventually if they don't want this to turn into a full blown legal battle'?” Yunho frowned in confusion. “I thought the point was to get through with the trial at all costs.”

“Well I offered him an alternative.” The singer chimed in after Sangwoo looked at him with an assuring smile as if to encourage him to tell Yunho about it himself. “I told him to hold a press conference and tell the truth on his own if he doesn't want it to get revealed in the court room.”

“But...” Yunho started to protest but stopped himself as he considered the offer for a moment before relaxing and giving his boyfriend a smile. “That was actually a very clever move.”

“Really?” Jaejoong looked up at his boyfriend warily. “You don't think it was silly of me say that?”

“No, not at all!” Yunho replied swiftly, shaking his head to emphasize his words.

He now realized what his protest, albeit being an unfinished one, must've looked like to Jaejoong. It had seemed as if Yunho was initially against Jaejoong's suggestion but had forced himself to accept it for Jaejoong's sake.

“That 'But' was my instinct as the attorney who nearly never goes for out-of-court settlements speaking.” Yunho explained almost sheepishly. “I am so used to making my opponents fall apart in the court room that I have almost forgotten how out-of-court settlements work.”

“Oh.” Jaejoong said before a chuckle escaped from his lips.

After being together for quite some time now and having gotten to know the sweet side of Yunho, Jaejoong has forgotten what kind of reputation his boyfriend had as an attorney. More often than not, Yunho gave in so easily when Jaejoong wanted something that it was hard to believe that he was the exact opposite when doing his job.

“That's actually one of the reasons why people call him 'The Stone'.” Sangwoo said. “He is unrelenting, never giving in and always regarding his opponents' attempt at an out-of-court settlement as a whiny attempt to get better than they deserve.”

“To my defense, they rarely deserve anything else than the worse.” Yunho muttered.

Sangwoo chuckled and nodded in agreement to Yunho's words. “That's why your clients came to you. Because they know who to turn to when they are fighting against the worst.”

Jaejoong smiled at the smug grin on his boyfriend's lips and swiftly leaned up to place a kiss on those soft petals, loving the way Yunho's hold on him tightened a bit. He whispered into his boyfriend's ear, smiling at how Yunho leaned down to make things easier for him.

Their hushed conversation was being watched by the people around them in confusion, but no one said anything, merely smiling warily as they exchanged questioning gazes.

“We should go and have lunch together.” The singer suggested as he gestured towards everyone in the group. “If you have time that is. Yunnie and I are paying.”

Receiving nods and vocal agreements from his manager and his two bodyguards, Jaejoong aimed his questioning gaze at the only one who has not responded yet.

Sangwoo had been surprised by the sudden invitation but quickly voiced out his agreement with a smile on his lips once he realized that Jaejoong was still waiting for his reply. “I would love to join you.”

“Why don't you ask Dongho to come as well?” Yunho suggested, the smirk on his lips causing Sangwoo to narrow his eyes in a playful glare. “The more the better.”

Jaejoong nodded in agreement, a gleeful smile on his lips as he stared right at Sangwoo and encouraged him to do as Yunho had suggested.

Up until now, Jaejoong barely had the chance to meet Yunho's friends and considering that Yunho rarely referred to someone as such, the singer was excited to find out just how special the few were which managed to find a place in Yunho's heart.

“If that's not too much trouble-”

“It's not.” Yunho is quick to chime in.

Sangwoo sighed before clearing his throat as he got a hold of his phone to dial Dongho's number, looking away to avoid Yunho's eyes as he felt his cheeks heating up.

“Oh, he's blushing.” Jaejoong pointed out in a whisper before smiling at Sangwoo apologetically when his words caused his boyfriend to start laughing and causing Sangwoo to get even more flustered.

Whatever secret joke the two friends shared regarding Dongho, Jaejoong was looking forward to finding out.
