a/n Many months back, I have asked for plots to be send in on my ask.fm and twitter and received many interesting plot suggestions in return. I have now chosen 24 out of the plots submitted and am going to write short stories based on them, posting one each day until December 24 like a fanfic advent calendar. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible. And to the ones whose plots did not get chosen: There's still next year!
The first time Yunho met Jaejoong, he was done for. Not in the common, negative way, mind you.
At least not after the first wave of embarrassment had faded.
It has not been the first meeting of everyone's dreams. No one entered the room gracefully and stun anyone in silence, nor did anyone catch anyone's attention with a heart-stopping smile.
No, the first time they met was a complete disaster and Yunho was stumbling through the canteen searching for a place to sit when Jaejoong chose that moment to get up and get himself something to drink. Although Yunho did see Jaejoong early enough and could've avoided him, luck chose to leave him long enough to have him trip on air and crash right into Jaejoong.
The collision sent them both flying to the ground and Yunho groaned in pain before looking at the boy sitting in front of him.
And goodness did he wish for a time machine at that very moment.
Jaejoong, stunned into silence by shock, was sitting still with his eyes wide open as Yunho's lunch covered his torso; the noodles, tidbits of vegetables and black bean sauce most likely ruining the other's white shirt for good.
“Well...fuck.” Yunho heard someone mumble and looked up at the people sitting at the table Jaejoong had been occupying, immediately recognizing the one who has spoken as Park Yoochun, one of the seniors in the law department's student council.
The other's expression was marked by sympathy bordering on worry and he was fast to get on his feet to help his friend off the ground. Mumbles could be heard from every direction, the loudest ones being alternate versions of “Are you okay?”, most likely directed towards Jaejoong rather than him.
But Yunho barely had time to plan his escape into a new life far away from this town before he was being pulled up by two pairs of strong hands. He looked around dazedly and was more than surprised to see Yoochun and a very tall student who looked like he was in his sophomore year flanking and holding onto him.
“Are you alright?” It was Jaejoong who has spoken and Yunho found it impossible to respond.
He would've expected for the other to throw a few insults and maybe also a few punches at him after what he's done. Sure, it had been an accident, but most people faced with the same situation as Jaejoong couldn't care less whether it had been intentional or not.
And there Jaejoong stood, eyeing Yunho in worry with not even the smallest trace of anger apparent in his dark orbs. The other's sincere concern over the one who was responsible for his current predicament made something within Yunho melt.
Yunho suddenly felt a lot calmer and he realized that he didn't mind the others' looks and mumbles anymore.
And so, as he managed to look less like a scared cat having a mental breakdown, he smiled and finally gave Jaejoong the awaited response. “Yes...yes I am.”
That was five years ago and now that Yunho looks down at the man lying next to him, he can't help but thank his clumsiness for the chance to meet Jaejoong. It's not the most perfect story of how a couple meets for the first time, but it sure is going to be the most entertaining part of his speech at their wedding.
Yunho chuckles to himself and lies back down, loving the way Jaejoong sighs in contentment when he kisses the other's left hand and pays special attention to the spot the engagement ring is going to cover soon enough. He then looks at his soon-to-be fiancés face once again, grinning in amusement when he recalls how Jaejoong couldn't help but flinch every time Yunho carried a bowl of jjajangmyun during the first few months after they started dating.
A complete disaster had pushed him right into Jaejoong's arms and Yunho is grateful for every second of that fateful incident.
