„He is dead!“
Yunho's heart skipped a beat at what he heard.“What?“
„He is dead.“ Jaejoong's sobs got louder.“My heart hurts."
"Baby calm down, I'll go to see you right now."
He didn't wait for any reply and swiftly got up to leave the office with his muted cellphone now in his trouser pocket. His secretary only got a short order to clear his schedule for today before he stormed into the elevator and headed down. He did not pay attention on anything else but how he could get to Jaejoong the fastest.
There was only chaos in his mind as he thought about what was going on and who Jaejoong could possibly talk about but there was one thing in the middle of jumbled thoughts which Yunho focused on throughout the whole car ride to Jaejoong's apartment.
Jaejoong needed him right now.

When his boyfriend opened the door for him, Yunho would've expected for the other to jump right into his arms with tears running down his face. But Jaejoong froze at the sight of him standing there, obviously shocked by Yunho's abrupt visit.
"Yunho why did you come here?" Jaejoong gasped."Oh my god why didn't you pick up your phone or check your messages?"
"I was too busy driving." Yunho was perplexed."And of course I came, you said that someone was dead and that your heart-"
"I was talking about Mufasa!" Jaejoong blurted out before biting onto his bottom lip guiltily.
Now it was on Yunho to freeze as he took in his boyfriend's words. Did he hear it right?
"Lion King Mufasa?" Yunho wanted confirmation.
"Is there another Mufasa you know?" Jaejoong asked back with a pout before he wrapped his arms around Yunho's neck to pull him in for a hug."Oh gosh Yunnie I'm so sorry! After you said that you'd come here and hung up, I tried to call you and tell you. I even texted you but you didn't answer your phone and you obviously haven't checked your messages. I'm so sorry!"
The attorney took a deep breath before he started to chuckle while shaking his head at the absurd situation. Jaejoong looked up at him apologetically and Yunho knew that his boyfriend felt guilty for making him worried and caused him to abandon work. But Yunho was simply relieved.
Yunho wrapped his arms around Jaejoong before he pressed a soft kiss onto the other's forehead."I'm just glad you're alright."
"I'm so sorry. I was so silly." It almost looked like Jaejoong wanted to cry and that kicked puppy look tore Yunho's heart apart."I didn't want to cause any trouble for you."
"You didn't, so stop feeling bad." Yunho assured and leaned down to share a kiss with his boyfriend."I got the rest of the day off, so let's watch the movie together."
Jaejoong nodded and let Yunho lead him towards the living room after closing the front door properly, all the while throwing his boyfriend apologetic glances to which Yunho replied with soft kisses of reassurance.

"I can't believe that you made him ignore work just because you were sad about a dead cartoon character."
"Excuse me but I didn't make him do it okay? It was a misunderstanding!" Jaejoong crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes on Changmin."And don't you dare make fun of me. You were the first one to cry when Bambi's mother died!"
"Did not!"
"Did too! Junsu saw it too!" Jaejoong turned his head to look at Junsu and was about to ask for the other's agreement when he, along with the others , noticed the way Junsu seemed to be too lost in thoughts to take part in their conversation.
Junsu was usually their beaming sunshine, always smiling brightly no matter when and where and Changmin once voiced out the suspicion that the young singer most probably woke up singing with the birds like a Disney Princess sporting a big butt every single morning. He was never proven right, but remained determined in holding onto the theory.
But today, something was different about Junsu. Instead of gleeful chirps, everything Jaejoong, Changmin and Junho heard from him were sighs. It was rare to see Junsu like this and truth to be told, they always considered it pretty much impossible to make Junsu's mood sink like this.
"Did someone cut down your favorite palm tree or what?" Changmin finally asked and caused Jaejoong to nudge him warningly for being slightly inconsiderate whereas Junho looked at his brother and waited for a reaction.
Junsu gasped, looking almost scandalized as he stared right at Changmin."How can you talk about something so horrible? You are going to jinx it!"
Now this was the Junsu they all knew.
Changmin rolled his eyes and busied himself with his bibimbap.
They were having lunch together in a restaurant belonging to a former schoolmate and friend of Jaejoong, enjoying their food in a secluded area reserved for VIP customers. Junsu was usually a huge fan of eating out with his friends, but for some reason, he didn't seem to enjoy it that much this time around.
"Did something happen? You've been like this since yesterday evening." Junho tilted his head to have a better look at his brother.
"You know that I went to see some old friends yesterday." Junsu sighed, first looking at Junho before he looked at Jaejoong."I told you guys about it, right?"
Junho and Jaejoong nodded.
"And..." A pause."They are all either married or about to get married while I'm still stuck with my cats!"
While Jaejoong and Junho seemed rather surprised by Junsu's sudden outburst, all Changmin did was snort.
"He wants to get lai-ouch!"
Jaejoong clicked his tongue after smacking Changmin's arm, his eyes soon on Junsu."So, you want to have someone too?"
"Well." Junsu frowned in confusion."I don't know. It would be nice to have someone, but I'm also fine being by myself, you know?"
"You're obviously not fine by yourself, or else you wouldn't let those friends' love life drag you down like this." Changmin retorted."I'd advice you to stop playing hard to get and let Yoochun hyung tap that big butt of yours before you turn into an old cat lady with no one else to cuddle with but whiny balls of fur."
The young singer gasped."There is no way I'll ever turn out like that!"
"How many cats do you have now?"
Junsu hesitated."Eight, but-"
"No further questions, your honor." Changmin raised his hands dramatically.
A pout found its way onto Junsu's lips."And for your information, I am not playing hard to get."
Changmin rolled his eyes at that.
Jaejoong grinned slightly."Well...Yoochun is not the baddest choice out there."
"Not you too, hyung!"
"I agree." Junho said, ignoring his brother's glare."He obviously likes you."
"Yeah, along with million others." For the first time, they can hear bitterness in Junsu's voice."He gives away his 'I love yous' like 'hellos'."
Junho smiled in amusement and although Changmin was rolling his eyes, he could see the other sporting the same smile on his lips.
"The 'I love yous' he gives to others." Jaejoong paused."You should know that they are different from the ones he gives to you. If you can't trust his words, trust mine."
Junsu bit into his bottom lip lightly as he regarded Jaejoong with a thoughtful look all too familiar to his friends and brother.
But before any of them had the time to question him about the meaning behind that look, Yunho and Yoochun approached them and caught Jaejoong's and Changmin's attention first as the two of them were facing the attorney and the manager. Junsu gulped as he turned around and spotted Yoochun.
"Glad you could come." Jaejoong smiled and gladly welcomed the kiss Yunho pressed onto his lips before the attorney sat down at the end of the table which allowed him to be flanked by Jaejoong and Junho while Yoochun sat down across from him.
Jaejoong bit back a chuckle when he saw the way Junsu almost forced himself to not look Yoochun's way while Changmin rolled his eyes upon noticing what was going on.
Junho gulped down a smirk with a sip of green tea.
"So." Changmin drawled, his eyes now on Yunho."I heard about the 'Lion King' incident."
Yunho smiled and let out a chuckle after taking a short glance at his pouty boyfriend."Did you now?"
"What 'Lion King' incident?" Yoochun asked and looked around in confusion.
"Well, our princess over here-"
"Yah!" Jaejoong cut him off."I'll tell him myself. I know you'll be mean about it."
"And you are really going to take that pleasure from me? Don't be so cruel to your dongsaeng." Changmin protested, starting a heated discussion between him and Jaejoong.
Yoochun blinked a few times before he shook his head with a chuckle, his eyes soon on Junsu. He noticed the swift head motion Junsu made and raised his eyebrows in wonder.
Did he just catch Junsu staring at him?
He grinned."Baby Su~"
Junsu refused to look at him and chose to stare at Junho instead, which earned him a smile of amusement from his twin. Yoochun was grinning from ear to ear by then. He found it kind of cute how hard Junsu was trying to pretend like he didn't care when he in fact did care. More than he was willing to admit.
"Anyways, Yoochun hyung stop looking at dolphin and pay attention to me please." Changmin demanded and easily had Yoochun looking at him, the young bodyguard's arms around Jaejoong as he held one hand in front of the struggling singer's mouth."Our princess had an emotional outburst after he watched how Mufasa died and when Yunho hyung called him, he thought one of our Snow White's friends or relatives died so our Prince Charming immediately dropped work to comfort his damsel in distress only to be told that it was a cartoon character who died."
Silence followed as Yoochun looked at Yunho - who gently pulled Jaejoong free from Changmin's grasp - and Jaejoong before his eyes were back on Changmin."...Lion King Mufasa?"
"Yes, Sir."
"Well..." Yoochun didn't even try to hide his urge to laugh."It is very tragic."
Jaejoong sighed. He knew what was coming and even before he could pout in earnest, the sound of Yoochun's hysterical laughter filled the room and had Changmin laughing along while Junho and Junsu went for suppressed chuckles.
The singer then looked at his amused boyfriend, gladly accepting the comforting butterfly kisses he received on his face right after.
"I should've recorded him crying over Bambi's mother." Jaejoong muttered.
"Well you didn't. Tough luck, doll." Changmin grinned.
"He didn't." Junsu said, his grin almost devilish."But I did."

If not for him being so convinved about Junsu being an angel on earth, Yoochun would've found the other scary as the young singer smirked at Changmin, taunting him.

Changmin sank his upper teeth into his bottom lip almost gently as he bit back a snarky reply, soon forcing himself to sport an almost cheesy smile."Beloved Junsu hyung, my religion and ruler of my world, please don't spread the video."
Yunho laughed along with Jaejoong and the others as the banter between Junsu and Changmin went on. But his attention didn't stay on the two bickering friends for long as Jaejoong caught his attention once again.
He looked so carefree and happy. It was the side of Jaejoong he loved the most because when that side of Jaejoong came through, Yunho knew that the other was free from stress. Not paying attention on anyone else beside Jaejoong, Yunho leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss onto the other's cheek. And when his boyfriend looked at him through his doe eyes, his pink lips curved up into a smile, the attorney could not resist the urge to kiss him properly.
The familiar clicking sound of a camera going off suddenly disturbed the peace and when Yunho and Jaejoong looked up, they could see a reporter standing at the entrance to the VIP area.
"Sir, you are not allowed to enter this area!" A waiter called out as he held his right hand in front of the camera's lense, trying to push the reporter out with his left one.
Yunho immediately rose to his feet and approached the source of discomfort. Jaejoong followed him silently, which alerted Changmin and Yoochun. The bodyguard and manager got up and approached the group of four by the entrance of the VIP area.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung." The waiter apologized and bowed to the pair."We will make sure to get rid of the pictures he has taken."
"You can't do that." The man protested."I have the right to take pictures when they are at a public place."
"But this area here is not open for the public, Sir." The waiter argued."This is an area reserved for VIP guests and your name is not on the list."
"We have nothing to hide." Yunho said."But let's draw the line here. We are in an area which is not open for the public so you have no right to take pictures of us while we are here, especially when you are not allowed to be here at all. Delete the pictures like the waiter will instruct you to do. If you do not follow the instruction and release any of those pictures you took, I will take care of you the legal way and trust me, I am goddamn good in my job."
The reporter gulped but said nothing in response, merely nodding in recognition before he walked away with the waiter right behind him to make sure he was going to leave for real.
Yoochun sighed."They are trying to get the very best pictures of you guys ever since you came clean about your relationship. I'll go and make sure he'll delete all pictures."
And with that, Yoochun walked away.
Jaejoong and Yunho were very well aware of everything Yoochun said. There was some kind of competition going on between reporters as pictures of them being all lovey-dovey together in public turned into bestsellers. Not only reporters were 'thirsty' for them but also fans and that only encouraged reporters even more to do whatever it took in order to get the best pictures of them together.
Jaejoong and his 'hot attorney boyfriend' were the two people photographers yearned to catch together the most nowadays.
Sometimes, it was a little disturbing and Jaejoong was starting to get worried.

Jaejoong looked away and went back to using Yunho's chest as his pillow, his thin arms holding Yunho even tighter."Do you sometimes regret to have a star as your boyfriend?"

"No, hear me out first." Jaejoong protested and silenced Yunho effectively."I mean...you are someone who doesn't like attention, right? You treasure your privacy a lot, but ever since you've started dating me...I keep dragging you into stuff like the incident with the reporter earlier today. I don't want it to scare you away and I feel so sorry for you because I know how exchausting it can be to have so much attention on oneself."
Yunho pressed his lips into a thin line, running the fingers of his left hand through Jaejoong's hair before he parted his lips to speak."You done?"
His voice was soft and soothing as he spoke.

"There will never be one day or even a second during which I will regret dating or loving you, Jaejoong." Yunho clarified."It's true that I don't like to have so much attention on me and my life, but I'm more than willing to endure all the nosy people around us if it means to have you by my side as well. You are the one who matters."
Jaejoong's hold around Yunho tightened some more and a sense of panic overcame Yunho when he could hear soft sobs coming from the young singer, the other's face now pressed against Yunho's chest. The wetness of tears warmed his skin through the thin layer of his shirt.
"If it ever gets too much for you, please tell me." Jaejoong plead."I will protect you. I promise you that I will protect you."
"I know." Yunho hugged his boyfriend tightly."Now why are you crying, hmm?"
Jaejoong shook his head."I don't know. But I feel so happy and I feel like my heart is going to burst."
Yunho knew that feeling. Every single time he was reminded of how Jaejoong was his and every time Jaejoong told him he loved him, Yunho felt the same way Jaejoong was feeling now. The happiness he felt was almost too intense for his heart to take.

"Well..." Yoochun didn't even try to hide his urge to laugh."It is very tragic."
Jaejoong sighed. He knew what was coming and even before he could pout in earnest, the sound of Yoochun's hysterical laughter filled the room and had Changmin laughing along while Junho and Junsu went for suppressed chuckles.
The singer then looked at his amused boyfriend, gladly accepting the comforting butterfly kisses he received on his face right after.
"I should've recorded him crying over Bambi's mother." Jaejoong muttered.
"Well you didn't. Tough luck, doll." Changmin grinned.
"He didn't." Junsu said, his grin almost devilish."But I did."
Changmin's face fell."Did not."
If not for him being so convinved about Junsu being an angel on earth, Yoochun would've found the other scary as the young singer smirked at Changmin, taunting him.
"You sure?"
"Y-"
"Ah!" Junsu cut him off."Don't 'Yah' me or I'll make sure to spread the clip on youtube!"
Changmin sank his upper teeth into his bottom lip almost gently as he bit back a snarky reply, soon forcing himself to sport an almost cheesy smile."Beloved Junsu hyung, my religion and ruler of my world, please don't spread the video."
Yunho laughed along with Jaejoong and the others as the banter between Junsu and Changmin went on. But his attention didn't stay on the two bickering friends for long as Jaejoong caught his attention once again.
He looked so carefree and happy. It was the side of Jaejoong he loved the most because when that side of Jaejoong came through, Yunho knew that the other was free from stress. Not paying attention on anyone else beside Jaejoong, Yunho leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss onto the other's cheek. And when his boyfriend looked at him through his doe eyes, his pink lips curved up into a smile, the attorney could not resist the urge to kiss him properly.
The familiar clicking sound of a camera going off suddenly disturbed the peace and when Yunho and Jaejoong looked up, they could see a reporter standing at the entrance to the VIP area.
"Sir, you are not allowed to enter this area!" A waiter called out as he held his right hand in front of the camera's lense, trying to push the reporter out with his left one.
Yunho immediately rose to his feet and approached the source of discomfort. Jaejoong followed him silently, which alerted Changmin and Yoochun. The bodyguard and manager got up and approached the group of four by the entrance of the VIP area.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Kim and Mr. Jung." The waiter apologized and bowed to the pair."We will make sure to get rid of the pictures he has taken."
"You can't do that." The man protested."I have the right to take pictures when they are at a public place."
"But this area here is not open for the public, Sir." The waiter argued."This is an area reserved for VIP guests and your name is not on the list."
"We have nothing to hide." Yunho said."But let's draw the line here. We are in an area which is not open for the public so you have no right to take pictures of us while we are here, especially when you are not allowed to be here at all. Delete the pictures like the waiter will instruct you to do. If you do not follow the instruction and release any of those pictures you took, I will take care of you the legal way and trust me, I am goddamn good in my job."
The reporter gulped but said nothing in response, merely nodding in recognition before he walked away with the waiter right behind him to make sure he was going to leave for real.
Yoochun sighed."They are trying to get the very best pictures of you guys ever since you came clean about your relationship. I'll go and make sure he'll delete all pictures."
And with that, Yoochun walked away.
Jaejoong and Yunho were very well aware of everything Yoochun said. There was some kind of competition going on between reporters as pictures of them being all lovey-dovey together in public turned into bestsellers. Not only reporters were 'thirsty' for them but also fans and that only encouraged reporters even more to do whatever it took in order to get the best pictures of them together.
Jaejoong and his 'hot attorney boyfriend' were the two people photographers yearned to catch together the most nowadays.
Sometimes, it was a little disturbing and Jaejoong was starting to get worried.

When Yunho and Jaejoong lied in bed together that evening, only the night lamp left to illuminate the room, Yunho placed the papers he's been looking over aside and looked down at his boyfriend who has made Yunho's chest turn into a makeshift pillow, his eyebrows raising automatically as he noticed the glum look his boyfriend sported.
And if he recalled the day properly, he had to admit that his boyfriend had been awfully quite in comparison to his usually cheery and chatty self after their lunch together.
The young attorney pressed a kiss onto Jaejoong's head."Tired?"
Jaejoong finally smiled and looked up, soon shifting on the bed to lean up and press a kiss onto his boyfriend's lips."A little."
"Is that why you are so quiet or is there something else you are not telling me?"
The singer chuckled."You've gotten so good in reading me."
"The perks of dating you." Yunho smiled, soon lifting his right hand to let its fingers free Jaejoong's face from soft locks as he fixated the strands behind Jaejoong's ear."Tell me what's bothering you."
Jaejoong looked away and went back to using Yunho's chest as his pillow, his thin arms holding Yunho even tighter."Do you sometimes regret to have a star as your boyfriend?"
"Jaejoong-"
"No, hear me out first." Jaejoong protested and silenced Yunho effectively."I mean...you are someone who doesn't like attention, right? You treasure your privacy a lot, but ever since you've started dating me...I keep dragging you into stuff like the incident with the reporter earlier today. I don't want it to scare you away and I feel so sorry for you because I know how exchausting it can be to have so much attention on oneself."
Yunho pressed his lips into a thin line, running the fingers of his left hand through Jaejoong's hair before he parted his lips to speak."You done?"
His voice was soft and soothing as he spoke.
"Yeah." Jaejoong replied.
"There will never be one day or even a second during which I will regret dating or loving you, Jaejoong." Yunho clarified."It's true that I don't like to have so much attention on me and my life, but I'm more than willing to endure all the nosy people around us if it means to have you by my side as well. You are the one who matters."
Jaejoong's hold around Yunho tightened some more and a sense of panic overcame Yunho when he could hear soft sobs coming from the young singer, the other's face now pressed against Yunho's chest. The wetness of tears warmed his skin through the thin layer of his shirt.
"If it ever gets too much for you, please tell me." Jaejoong plead."I will protect you. I promise you that I will protect you."
"I know." Yunho hugged his boyfriend tightly."Now why are you crying, hmm?"
Jaejoong shook his head."I don't know. But I feel so happy and I feel like my heart is going to burst."
Yunho knew that feeling. Every single time he was reminded of how Jaejoong was his and every time Jaejoong told him he loved him, Yunho felt the same way Jaejoong was feeling now. The happiness he felt was almost too intense for his heart to take.
No more words were exchanged between them, but Jaejoong swore to himself repeatedly that he was going to do his very best in protecting Yunho from harm.
This man was his to love and protect.
