summary After telling his boyfriend about his pregnancy,19 year old student Jung Yunho finds himself being pushed and thrown away by the man he loves who turns out to be a cheating husband and the father of three grown up children.Things get even more nasty for Yunho when the man's family finds out about the affair and against his lover's order to get rid of the child,Yunho decides to leave the growing life inside of him unharmed,demanding for the married man to at least recognize the child as his even if not publicly.But everything he gets in return are hurtful words and repetitive rejections until the man's oldest son Jaejoong decides to take matters into his own hand.
'Why can't you just take the money and disappear?'
The hurtful words being pushed past his ex-lover's lips still rang painfully in his ears even as he walked out of the company building and far away from the man he was once willing to give his everything to.He had been dating the man for over one year despite his parents' disapproval,defending him in every way possible when people around him talked bad about Jihoon.
Their huge age gap of 26 years had always been frowned upon throughout the whole relationship,but Yunho chose to not care about society's opinion,even ignoring his family's words as they tried to save him from possible heartbreak.
He could remember people telling him that a 45 year old man like Jihoon was probably not interested in something all too serious with him,implying that Yunho was nothing but a toy to him.
How he wished he could've proven them wrong.
But he couldn't.
Because it was true...he had only been a small boy toy for Jihoon and no matter how often the older male had claimed to love him in the past,Yunho knew that he had stopped meaning something to Jihoon the moment the other was informed about their child's existence.It had been so easy for the other to push him away afterwards,telling him to have the child aborted as soon as possible in order to prevent things from getting 'more problematic'.
'I don't want anything to remind me of the mistake.'
Their child was just a thing to Jihoon,the very reason for the problems he currently had with his wife and children...a mistake.
When Yunho was in Jihoon's office three days ago,begging for his ex-lover to accept the child as his like he had tried again today,Kim Taehee suddenly stormed into the spacious room with the demand for an explanation.Yunho and Jihoon have not been the quietest during their discussion,making it so easy for everyone outside to figure out what exactly Yunho wanted from Jihoon and the moment Taehee's eyes fell on him,Yunho knew that she had heard more than enough.
He remembered the way the couple was fighting infront of him before their anger was directed at him,quickly driving him out of the company building,broken and hurt.Kim Taehee was a prideful woman with a sharp tongue and she was everything but merciful as she threw profanities Yunho's way,her hurtful words still carved deeply inside Yunho's shattered heart.
And yet he had returned today to beg for Jihoon's acceptance once again.He didn't want money and the child didn't even need to carry the Kim name or officially be introduced as Jihoon's fourth child.Everything Yunho wanted was for Jihoon to recognize the child as one hidden part of him.But just like the last time,Jihoon only offered him money for abortion,saying that if Yunho didn't want to abort,he should just take the money and live a happy live far away from him and his family.
"Yunho ssi."
Hearing his name being called,Yunho hastily turned around to look at whoever was talking to him only to come face to face with a tall man in what seemed to be like his early 20s.His dark brown hair was gelled to the back,showing off his flawless features and especially his eyes which were on Yunho only as he stepped closer.
"I'm Kim Jaejoong,Kim Jihoon's oldest son." The man introduced himself and Yunho almost felt the urge to just turn around and run away,knowing that he wouldn't be able to take more hurtful words from any member of Jihoon's family right now.
He was sure that Taehee didn't waste any time before telling her children about the sins Jihoon had committed with Yunho and the young teen could only imagine just how much they must've hated him.
"I'm sorry,Jaejoong ssi...I-I won't come here anymore.Please believe me when I say that I never intended to do your family any h-"
"Please calm down..."
The tone Jaejoong used had Yunho looking up at him in confusion,tears continueing to run along his cheeks as he tried to figure out how he should react to the man who was now standing directly infront of him.He had expected to see hatred and disgust in the big orbs fixated on him,but everything he found was sympathy and worry.
"It's true that I don't want you to come here anymore,not because I want to protect my parents and specifically my father from you but rather because I want to protect you from my parents." Jaejoong spoke calmly before getting a handkerchief with his initials visible on one edge out of his breast pocket to offer it to Yunho."And you are the last person who should feel sorry."
But instead of ending the other's sobs,the way Jaejoong looked at Yunho and talked to him only had the student crying harder.He didn't know whether Jaejoong really meant what he said,but for now Yunho would allow for himself to believe that at least one person from Jihoon's family was trying to see things from his point of view for a change.
Seeing that he wasn't getting anywhere by only offering the handkerchief to Yunho,Jaejoong slowly brought it up to wipe the younger male's tears away carefully as if not wanting to hurt him.The sobs ringing in his ears soon started to subside,Yunho's body shaking less with each passing second and at some point,his tears did stop running.
"Yunho ssi..."
"Why?" Yunho suddenly asked weakly,the look he was giving Jaejoong showing nothing but confusion."You said that you want to protect me from your parents,but why?Why don't you hate me like they do?"
"Because I can't blame you for something that was never your fault to begin with." Jaejoong retorted softly as he tucked the handkerchief into his pants pocket."And no matter what my parents believe,our family was broken long before you stepped into our lives and you were just the most convenient one to put the blame on.But you don't deserve this,Yunho ssi...and neither does your child."
Lowering his head with a bitter smile,Yunho meekly muttered his answer as his aching heart thumped harder in anger and sorrow."No,my child does not deserve to be treated like this,but it seems that your father will never give him the recognition he deserves.I'm not out to have your money or any of the fame coming along with your name,Jaejoong ssi.One day,I just want to be able to tell my child who his or her father is.I don't want to get into a situation where I need to make up lies about his whereabouts just so I won't have to hurt my child's feelings with the truth."
"You won't ever have to lie to your child about that...I'll make sure of it."
"How?"
Taking a deep breath as if wanting to pump some courage along with air into his lungs,Jaejoong made sure to hold the gaze he had on Yunho as his soft voice carried the message past his lips."Come and live with us."
