Nanoha StrikerS Ep 1

Finally got round to watching Episode 1, and boy, it's good to see the old crew back. XD

Yes, the main focus of the episode was Subaru and Tiana, the new characters, but having Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate in the background watching them was good enough for me. XD I was so happy to hear their voices again, Fate in particular...

Totally digging Subaru's fighting style though. Old fashioned close range rumble. XD Granted, her and Tia are comparatively weaker to our favorite aces, but they're still pretty good. Tia seems to be the brains of the two, if you ask me. Subaru is the more impulsive and emotional one, with slightly reckless ideas...haha. The illusion magic that Tia pulled was pretty cool too.

Subaru and Tia make a good combination and pair. Short-range plus middle-long range. Tia can act as decoy and support, while Subaru charges up to wreck havoc. It makes for interesting combat techniques I think. Their Cross Shift maneuver was quite good, although it takes too long to set up, as they admit later.

Personality-wise Tia seems to be typical tsundere. Reminds me a little of Tohsaka RIn from Fate/Stay Night, and yes, the appearance plays a part in that. I strongly feel that Tia and Subaru can be slashed. I mean, really. Haha.

Looking forward to episode 2, seems to shift back to our Three Aces. Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate sleeping on the same bed! Yay! Lol. And it's quite obvious that Nanoha and Fate are sleeping subtly closer to each other, yet not shutting Hayate out. They make good friends and partners.

Hayate gives me the typical "I know everything and am up to something" impression somehow. Her knowing expressions in the OP (seated behind that huge-ass desk) seems like she's up to something. Of course, the manga seems to suggest that she's trying to get the old crew to be able to work together as a team again instead of being separated into the different divisions as they are now. XD Good old Hayate. Always the little mastermind. And I love her Kansai-ben. XD

OP is a bit disappointing compared to the first two seasons. Lacks instant impact. Oh well, it may yet grow on me. The ED is much better compared to previous seasons, more mature as fitting the ages of the grown up cast. I like it better than the OP lol.

Overall, definitely anticipating how the series works out. The scriptwriters have yet to fail us for the last 2 seasons, and I'm definitely looking forward to more of their genius in this 3rd season. ^__^
