Summary (by author): Tough, street-smart SFPD Detective Gabriel Sandalini is willing to do whatever it takes to bring down West Coast crime boss Ricco Botelli - including a dangerous, deep undercover gig as one of Botelli's hired guns. But Gabriel's best laid plans may come crashing down around him when he falls hard for Antonio Lorenzo, the sexy, suave lieutenant of a rival Mexican drug lord. Turns out Antonio may have a few secrets of his own: secrets that could destroy both men and the fragile bond between them.
Opinion: Man, I really should've just rec'ed it right after I was done reading, so that the memory would still be fresh. >__> One thing for sure, this is one hot piece of work. I read a few of Laura Baumbach's novels before - they are infused with too much sex (admittedly hot) and not much plot, while Josh Lanyon's works, while on a better level, doesn't have enough pr0n. Xd Mexican Heat fixes that - everything is in perfect balance. The characters sure got character (don't you "duh," because there are more fics with bland characters than I care to know) and they continue to grow before your eyes. And... ugh, this is hard. You know what, it's awesome, take my words, go read it. In fact, I'm gonna reread it.
