Frequency of posting seems to be an issue here. Then again, I'm a very forgiving editor, so there's no such thing as a deadline or an obligation to produce... I figure if I can get to my own ink-and-paper journal at least once every three days or so, I'm doing okay.
Been sick lately. One of those awful 'brick lodged in my chest' things. I'm over it now, but my nose is still tender, so if I'm annoying you and you want to make me go away quickly, that's the spot to hit, I guess. ... This is not the entry I was planning on writing.
Books. Back to books. For the past few months, my old school chum Robb and I have been revising our first Cidae's Rise novel, Dead Weather. We love DW, and we learned a lot doing that first book, and now we want to bring the whole series to the same level before we launch into book 4, which we've already cooked up an outline for. We're hoping to have that rewrite out by summer. And then I'll be all about the next one. As a teaser (and since I know nobody's actually reading this, it's hardly a spoiler), here's the working title: Cidae's Rise: Striking Home. I'm eager to get to work on it.
My work life has taken an interesting twist: At the first of the year, the US branch of the company was officially and legally dissolved. I continue doing the same thing I always did, though on the behest of the China operation (I did mention that they sent me to China for two months last year, didn't I? Again, reference first line of post), and in addition to this I do things for my previous boss in her new organization, which runs racehorses.
Yeah.
Seriously, she owns five racehorses now, and one of them is a potential Kentucky Derby horse. Don't know if this is going to go on indefinitely, or if she's going to tire of this business once the race season ends, but it's an interesting distraction, to be sure.
And I think that pretty much brings us up to speed, really.
