I guess understand why some people find today annoying. But I like it. Why wouldn't I want to see my old friends and meet some new people. Plus, I've never had anyone show up from home, which is...sorta good, sorta not.

[Curt shrugs. He holds up a gnarled stick.]

[So uh, some guy in a tweed suit and bright green Converse high tops is watching you for some reason. Probably no reason. It's probably nothing, nothing at all.]

[It's not like Curt isn't used to people staring at him, but at the current moment, it's a little creepy.]

[watcherwells]

[He nearly jumps out of his skin. He looks around to make sure this guy is definitely talking to him. Oh god oh god.]

Uh. Hi?

If you're just going to stare at me, come over here where you can at least get a proper look.

I... I-I wasn't? [Yeah, he sounds really convincing. But he's been given and order so he's coming closer anyway.]

[shiverandsing]

Sure you weren't. I look familiar or something?

[After all, it wouldn't be that weird if he did. He is a rock star...in some reality.]

[watcherwells]

No. [Oh wait-- good idea.] Yes! I mean, yes. I thought you were someone else, and you're clearly not, so I should just uh... just, be going.

[shiverandsing]

[Curt completely ignores this.]

A-Andrew. Wells.

I'm Curt Wild. Where are you from?

[watcherwells]

[Oh. That's a much cooler name. And much cooler... everything else.]

Uh... Sunnydale, California, originally. And then Mexico, briefly, and then Sunnydale again, but that's gone now. Sunnydale, I mean, obviously, not Mexico. So uh, more recently Italy. I mean, I came here from Italy.

[shiverandsing]

Oh, cool. Italy's nice, but I didn't get to spend much time there.

Wait. What do you mean gone?

[watcherwells]

Yeah, it's pretty nice. Lots of good-- ...uh, scenery?

Gone as in gone gone, doesn't exist anymore. There's a big hole in the ground where it used to be on the map.

Huh. That's...I'm not sure I want to know how that happened. When are you from?

[watcherwells]

Yeah, it's... kind of a long story. Not a pretty one.

I'm from, uh... it was 12th February, 2009 before I showed up here.

[shiverandsing]

Oh. That general time period--not like, the 12th of February, specifically--seems pretty popular around here, but I belong in 1975. I keep sorta trying to figure out things about the future, only I don't know if there's a point when it seems like slightly different worlds and stuff.
