US drug policy confuses me in one aspect especially. There's a whole lot of draconian shit going on, but that doesn't really confuse me as such. What I get confused by is medical cannabis laws. How 12 or 13 states allow medical cannabis, yet the federal government and the remaining 40-odd state governments don't acknowledge its merit as a medicine

Guess the 12/13 states simply responded to the federal's "no" with a big fat "f- you". lol
It's kinda unrelated, but do you think when the law's confusing enough to the point where it is simply inaccessible to the average citizen, that's when it needs a revamp? Afterall, the law's made to protect its people, right? It's like throwing a blind man a stick and expecting him to fend for himself. (not the best example, I know :p)

yeah I know what you mean. The law is pretty inaccessible to most people. Luckily in SA we have legal services who you can ring and ask them questions, but if you've ever tried to track down the information yourself it can be difficult.
Also there are probably lots of places that don't have services like that.
I think the idea of being arrested for something you didn't know was illegal is bullshit as well. Again, kinda unrelated :P
