Graduation (Friday 2nd of March)

Mar 04, 2007 00:00

Okay now I have some time to fill in about graduation.
Well I graduated from the undergraduate Bachelor of Visual Arts: Fine Art. Which sounds pretty spiffy to me. So yeah we got to wear the trendy dark blue robes and the tassel hats or trencher as they are called. They pined little coloured sash like things over our shoulders for the different departments of study. Humanities and social Science was a sky blue. Cass was Education was red.

I was so~o glad we got there early / when they told us to so I was third to have my family photo's taken. Which was good since everyone else had to line up outside in the sun and heat. *Snickers* Poor bastards. The ceremony itself would have bored everyones family to death.

They called my name out wrong who knew a simple name such as Sarah Lauren (my middle names) could be butchered to sound like  Sa-ra Loyr-reen instead of Se-ra Lor-ren *shrugs* People were surprised that I had to middle names making it rather long winded.

The group photo nearly killed us with the fact it was outside and had to be taken 8 times. 4 the first time then a student rocked up so we had to do it again another 4, then the newspaper guy had to take some and every second parent. But at least no one fainted.

The hat was surprisingly comfortable and wasn't irritating, no we didn't throw our hats in the air cos thats lame, plus I wasn't gonna risk having to pay for damages to the thing. Considering there was a fine if you returned it all late, I'd hate to see what one of those costs. *shudders*

I get to do it all next year as a graduate of the Graduate Diploma of Education. So I'll have two degree's under my belt and a fully qualified high school teacher in Art. The only thing that sucked was that we had classes that morning and then had graduation and then we went out for tea with the family. It was a very long day and I was buggered after it all.
