"Brad Pitt meanwhile bought the rights to remake the "Infernal Affairs" trilogy by Hong Kong directors Andrew Lau and Alan Mak. Martin Scorcese is slated to direct the remake, called "The Departed", with Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio taking the roles played by Andy Lau and Tony Leung in the original police and gangster thriller, which will be transplanted to Boston.

So, run out of original ideas, don't waste time being creative, just copy international ones.
