this year's turning out to be a financial bust. it started out promising. i was in the pits but there seemed to be much in the horizon. i was hopeful around jan~feb and i'm already feeling the first and second pinches. i know i've complained a lot about my (to whomever i talk to... i know i haven't been bloggin much) but honestly, she's really not single-handedly driving me to brokedom. all in all, while she does add to my weekly expenses, it -shouldn't- be much.

actually, my whole point in this blog is to list down my shit and see what i need to do to get back on track.

firstly, back since october, i'd been relying heavily on that raise/retro check. the raise was supposed to be 2.5% and retroactive from like june 2006 or 2005. i was seriously hoping for like $1500 after taxes. it kept getting pushed back and i didn't even notice when we actually got our raises. this dude at work, van, told me he noticed his raise back in february and i was surprised to realize it was true. i totally never saw i was getting those extra few bux. then, when that retro check came in, it was a measly $700 after taxes and everything... and i was one of the lucky ones. some people got close to $300 cuz of all the discrepancies in sick time and such.

then, my tax returns. considering i made more than i did last year and i got close to $3500 back, i was expecting a similar number this year. wrong. since i only worked one job and had shit to claim, my total was another measly $800. it was my mistake to even expect these checks as everyone else seems to see it as extra money.

now, comes my expenses. i got me a second legend (-$800), got my integra towed which i planned to sell to cover for costs for my legend (-$300) my auto legend needed some engine work (-$450) and my 5-speed legend needed a new master cylinder and bearing (-$320)... and right as i was picking up my 5-speed, i blew the alternator on my auto (-$150). just last week, i went to AAA to switch insurance cuz they seemed to offer better deals with multi car discounts but they kinda found out my annual mileage and the initial cost was (-$385.) just with cars, i just listed down $2400 worth of expenses.

then, there's my. yeah, i drive her to work and back and the occasional personal shit. i'm averaging like 100 miles a day again (30 to/from work and 60 to/from my's work and back). at 20mpg, that's roughly $5 a day, $30 a week, or $120 a month. add the fact that i didn't used to go to clubs twice a week and i never paid for parking (parking: $10, drinks: $20~$30)... while i must admit, my gets me in free -most- of the time, my usual average was twice a month when it came to clubbing. then add dinners and shopping and really, she's costing me like $400 per month.

gas prices ain't helpin either and i've been suckin up power with heaters and shit during the colder nights. i dunno... ana's right, all i ever think about is gas mileage and money.
