Because you can't deny the stellar chemistry potential of these two. And because, as excellently shown in Kihin Ranno's fics, Minako is both loving and ruthless (and I'm afraid that, Zoicite [or Endymion - this is for you, Spirit-hime -] asides, Kunz wouldn't break down nor settle for any less).
Loving, ruthless, deathly, wanton, playful. And, as they say, all's fair in love and war...
