Zara sat in the freezing night, watching as Nixon tried to explain the rules of horseshoes to the girls while Mamoru and Kadin were off to the side, attempting to hit a ringer and failing miserably. All were a little louder than usual, a little redder than the night air strictly called for.
Ami appeared in the doorway, “Are they all okay?”
“Yeah… someone spiked the eggnog. And they’ve had a fair amount.”
Clicking her tongue, Ami sat next to Zara and quirked an eyebrow. “Someone?”
“Okay, I spiked the eggnog.” She grinned cheekily and tapped her mug against Ami’s.
Lysander IS a pretty name! First I thought Ami's son in "Poptart predictions" was called Lysander, too, but I looked it up, and it's Evander. Which would sound nice together, too. Whoah, "dealing with the outers", what a program for the evening. I like the Shitennou vs Outers idea so much, I hope we get to see more of that.
“What seems to be the problem? I think the problem is that someone spiked the eggnog, and now we have the entire Parthenopean delegation attempting to dance with the Christmas trees, singing their planet’s most sacred songs - which, I should add, are not to be sung anywhere except the High Temple on Parthenope and the Crystal Palace most certainly does not fit that description - and hitting on my wife!”
A choked giggle echoed in the silence.
His head snapped around. “So, you find this situation funny, Leighanna?”
“Yes, sir.”
A fake cough came from somewhere down the line. He didn’t have to look to know it came from his own daughter.
“Well, I don’t think you’re going to find things as funny during our training session tomorrow.”
She looked down at her feet. “I expect not, sir. But such sacrifices must be made for the sake of tradition.”
Aaaaaw, poor Uncle Kunzite ;D ;D That's what you get out of prolonging the age of innocense with the Silver Crystal ;D ;D I'd love to hear more about this bunch!
Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that since I think it's really hit-or-miss with kids :) There's one more fic with them written so far (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4841068/1/Dawn_in_Transition), but I'd like to do more in the future.
