"Do you remember those days?" Jie gestured to the tv with his cup--full of soda not beer. It was too early to drink just yet with the children running around.

Rei rolled her eyes and smacked the back of his head before going to see if Makoto needed any help in the kitchen.

"What? The days of hot men and women living it up?" Nate smirked, "We're still in those days."

"No...I mean...yeah, but...we've got...rugrats..."

"Jie." Kadir's voice held the note of warning that was most commonly used for Jie--in every lifetime.

"Ugh, I'm not saying I don't love the brats. I do. I just miss being free, just us, no responsibilities." He glanced to the kitchen, eyes following his wife, "Free to not worry about interruptions and bedtimes and able to..."

"JIE! If you finish that sentence, your crisply burnt ass will be sleeping on the couch tonight!"

He sighed, "Never mind."

Zoe shook her head, "Don't worry, we all get it."
