Jaina sees the notification on her Dreamberry - someone's calling her...
...and her expression darkens. It's the man from the Junkyard, the enemy of the Embryon. She's immediately on guard - especially since he seems to be in much the same shape as Harley had been before he'd lost control.
"I need..." Bat presses a hand over the glowing mark as he shudders. "I need to eat something." He'd never had to suffer this, damn it all. In the Junkyard he'd never waited to feed.
"You value the... the safety of your people, right? I'll be... far more dangerous than Harley if I lose control."
As she'd thought - on both counts. Harley had seemed scared, out of control. This man, on the other hand, looked like he knew exactly what was going on.
"I see." Jaina's voice was calm, measured, as she quickly ran through her options. "What, exactly, is it that you need to eat in order to survive? There are animals in this world - it may tide you over until I can acquire a supplement."
"Animals...?" A pained chuckle followed that question. He still only had a basic grasp on what animals were, but even then he knew it couldn't be that simple. "If that was all it took then... you really think the Embryon would have had trouble?"
He shook his head. "Even if it would, I'm passed that point." The camera shook violently and was no longer focused anywhere near his face. "...You should be glad,...woman, that I'm starving."
A growl followed. "I... will not eat that... ridiculous bricked crap!"
Bat laughed again, but it ended in a wince. "Come on. There's got to be someone around here you can't stand." Or not. This woman seemed irritatingly noble. "What... what'd they do with Harley?"
She might have let the Embryon devour him there. Couldn't she just let him have the guy instead?
"He remains in the care of the Embryon. I believe they healed him and gave him a supply of his own." Jaina's voice remained steady. "If you've come to me expecting me to simply deliver someone into your hands, I'm afraid I can't do that."
"Are you truly that opposed to the supplements? Even though they'll let you retain control of yourself?"
And yet, they remain their only hope for peace. Jaina takes a breath, feeling a shiver run through her body at what seems to be her only logical course of action.
"If you are truly as dangerous as you say, then I seem to have no recourse but to stop you myself." A pause. "...I will offer you a deal. Should I defeat you, you will consent to sating your hunger via supplements."
Another breath. "Should you win, you can have me."
No! No deals! Deals had a chance of backfiring. He was hungry and he needed something substantial. If he changed to fight her, he might not be able to change back.
There was always that girl, but...
No. She was as much a member of the Embryon as any of them. There was no chance he was getting them involved!
There was a long silence, then another growl. "...Fine. You'll... have to meet me here."
"Very well. Where is 'here'?" Jaina kept her voice steady, though it was difficult to suppress the tension she felt in her entire body at the ultimatum.
"S'on your map... isn't it?" There was some fumbling around with the Dreamberry as Bat tried to pinpoint himself. Then he picked it up and just panned the view around the area in case she recognized anything.
"I'm just... it's outside the industrial area." He'd left Volgin's base. No point in dragging unwanted attention there.

"What is it?" Curt, direct, and to the point.
