So Weiner will reportedly resign over an Internet sex scandal using social media networks. Both parties hounded him to do so because of it. Now I know there's a lot more to this scandal, like whether or not the women involved wanted his attention and if one of them is underage. (I don't know, because I think my attention is/was better paid towards my finals/graduation/other more relevant shit than whether or not a guy who never proudly defended Family Values had sex with women he only met online and chatted with over the phone)
But.
Nobody's saying anything about the Republican who's still a senator even though he was exposed in a sex scandal involving a prostitution ring? Is it because the GOP (guardedly) had Vitter's back during the hoopla?
Do you not see the problem here, Democrats? Yeah, I'm saying let him get the help he wants/needs, let him reorganize his life, discipline him in whatever way you see fit, but don't kick him out. Fight fire with fire, you freaking losers. He's one of the best you have left, he's one of the only people who shoves the GOP's feet into the coals. Who're you going to replace him, huh? Who out there is as ballsy as he?

What, I'm not being idealistic here. I'm being pragmatic. If the GOP get to keep their sex scandal-ridden people in power why can't the Democrats?
