English-language livestream coverage of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami (NHK)

USGS and Japan (working with slightly different measurements) initially reported the earthquake as 7.9-magnitude. USGS has upgraded to 8.9-magnitude while Japan has upgraded to 8.4-magnitude. Both are now reporting that the earthquake is 8.9-magnitude, the seventh largest in recorded history. The resulting tsunami has hit Miyagi Prefecture the hardest; waves have been estimated to be between 6-10 meters high. Fires have broken out in Tokyo and, as of now, cell phone lines are down. There are serious concerns about the nuclear plants and here are also warnings of another large earthquake hitting the same area later on. Tsunami warnings have been issued for Russia, Hawaii, and several other countries touching the Pacific. // all information via twitter ( @AJELive, @fivethirtyeight, @BreakingNews, @BBCBreaking, @BBCNews)
