The electrician has come and gone. Power's back on in my mom's room, but not in mine. They're coming back out next Friday to run a new wire from the box outside to her room, which will provide power to my room as well. In the meantime, I'm stuck running everything off an extention cord from the guest bedroom. Could be worse, I suppose.
The good news is that they are going to replace our crappy old circuit breakers with new ones, and they're going to install new light fixtures in the front and side of the house, which is something we've needed for many years now.
