EVER - Finally got to hear it... yesterday
It's obvious that this was coming!!
After a wait of who knows how long, and putting off listening or watching the PV, for who knows what reason, I was finally able to listen to EVER, and I have to say that....
IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Since I got it yesterday @ 10:30 am, I've been listening to it nonstop. Like every Gackt song, if you don't love it from the beginning, it just grows on you little by little, or you start loving it even more. The opening 'punk' drum line, and the surfer bass&guitars, sound fantastic, and then there's the lyrics, and what can I say but I wouldn't expect anything else from him. I feel amazed every time I read his lyrics, it's impressive how he can fit such inspirational messages in a song, and it's even more amazing that they can reach you, even if your knowledge of the language is almost nonexistent.
The B-side, UNCONTROL ♂狂喜乱舞 Edition♂, however is kind of DNW. I like how the instrumental sounds, you can definitely move to it, but the lyrical version belongs at a rave or at a live. His voice was totally drown out by the electronics, and that's not cool because I want to listen to his beautiful voice. I pretty much had to move the Rebirth version of Uncontrol after EVER, to make the hurt stop...
But putting Uncontrol aside, this is still a very strong single, because of how amazing EVER is. It was definitely worth the wait, and now it belongs on my top favorite G♥songs. The lyrics, music, and his voice are absolutely fantastic. And he looks amazing in the PV, he manages to pull so many pieces of clothing, and accessories, that on a 'normal' human would clash into a whole lot of ridiculous.
This is definitely a great way to start up under AVEX, and I can only say that AVEX better realize what a PRICELESS DIAMOND they have on their hands, and do an infinitely better job at promoting him than NC ever did, because his talent, hard work, and beautiful messages deserve to be known beyond Japan, beyond us overseas Dears.
Anyway, on a related train of thought:
For some reason..... Well, for an obvious reason, at least to me, I found this adorable. ♥♥
He has evolved so much, yet he's still the same fail dancer Gackt from 10 years ago, except now he has bigger BOOBIES(I'm not gonna stop calling them that, EVER!! If someone doesn't like it, they can suck it!! =3=) ♥♥
He has trace amounts of rhythm and coordination, and can definitely pull a choreographed dance routine with ease, but when it comes to dancing.... just plain old, "no choreography necessary" dancing, he's just not good at it. But, he can still pull this slightly rhythmic and coordinated moves, that would make anyone else in the world look like an ass, and that's what makes him awesome. >D
