I'm glad your sister is ok! I think we can all live with the damaged salt shaker ^^;
Last weekend I was telling my parents that I was wondering if your sister was already in Japan, and if she was hopefully she was ok. Then I forgot to e-mail you ^^;;
My host family still hasn't answered my e-mail. I'm not super worried cause they live in Chiba and it takes them time to answer e-mail but there,s moment where I can't help worrying. It also seems like Jun changed her e-mail so I can't get in touch with her at all ;_; and the 2 other people I know in Japan I no longer have their e-mail (good thing they live in Toyama and Fukuoka which aren't very close, especially Fukuoka)
I'm so sad to hear of everything going on it just seems like nothing's going well... First the earthquake, then the tsunami, then the nuclear plant and out of season snow! It's so sad...

Thank you! I hope that you'll hear back from your host family soon-- I can totally understand being worried, even if they don't live close to where anything happened/is happening-- and hope that the others you haven't been able to get in touch with are okay too.

I know, it makes me sad too... every time it looks like things might be getting better, it seems like something else happens right after... hopefully that's the end of it now, tho *crosses fingers* I really want things to get better again.
