"you spin me right round, baby, right round..."

ok, instead of separate posts for all this (which i've been meaning to do for a few days...), i'm just going to categorize what i wanted to say instead :P

weather: omg so hot here this week, i am melting. and no, we have no AC *cries* I currently have a small fan on my desk blowing air into my face but that's about it. and i can't even stay online for long periods of time cause my computer keeps heating up and i don't want it to overheat ><;; i mean, okay, it's not quite as bad as it was the other day (I went to take refuge at the movie theatre, since it was cheapy-Tuesday >.>), which is weird since i think today is actually supposed to be even hotter? o.o i have no idea. anyhoo, it's supposed to go down a few degrees/rain the next couple of days, so i'm looking forward to that...

soccer: watched the Germany vs. Spain game yesterday, so sad that Germany lost ;__; they were pretty much the only team still in that I was rooting for, so now I don't really care one way or the other who wins *shrug* it'll be a first no matter who it is, and i am a sucker for underdog stories, so I'm okay with it either way :) (i also quite enjoy how the winning team for each match run around and hug/jump on each other for a good 5 minutes afterwards, it is awesome. i mean, where else do you get to see grown men acting so adorable with each other? <3) The Japanese loss was pretty tough, tho-- losing in a shootout sucks, especially after playing for 2 hours since it's pretty much like the last 2 hours didn't count anyway :( But they did get further than ever, I think, so maybe next time? I think that would be cool.

movies:
-went to go see 'The A-Team' last week with Dania, and omigosh it was soooo much fun!! I'd never seen the show, but really enjoyed the characters and the team dynamics and the slashy-ness, so I watched a couple of eps online and managed to find one of the seasons for only $20 so I've been watching that lately and it's awesome XD a bit cheesy/corny at times but, eh, it was the 80s XD And then when I was at the theatre on Tuesday, i saw it again >.> and would totally go yet again if anyone wants to
-finally saw 'The Hangover' and it was hilarious. I actually missed out going to see it with my ex-Carlton peeps did i really just say that? for some reason or other, i can't remember, so i'm really glad i got to catch it on The Movie Network (twice! since I missed the first 20 min. when we saw it at the country). Also, between this and A-Team, realized that Bradley Cooper is ridiculously pretty. I mean, really.
-also finally saw two sci-fi movies i'd really been wanting to see, 'District 9' and 'Moon', which were both so, so good-- both were really interesting, thought-provoking & really well made, and featured a tour-de-force performance from their lead actors (Sharlto Copley in D9 and Sam Rockwell in Moon), each of whom pretty much carried the movie on his shoulders. I was really impressed with them both, and promptly picked up both movies on the weekend (since i had a gift card *g*). D9 was a bit difficult to watch at times (it was kind of brutal and violent at points), but i found it really compelling. And, once again, Sharlto Copley (who was also in A-Team... seeing a pattern here? :P) was amazing... and he's actually pretty new to acting too! and then i learned that a lot of it was improv and i was even more impressed o.o (also, i love his name. Sharlto. very cool) honestly, the more i learn about him, the more i kinda love the guy (see icon), he is adorable. 'Moon' was a much quieter film, not a lot of action for the most part-- my dad (who'd seen it already) called it 'existential' sci-fi, tho i didn't really know what to make of that since I didn't know much about the movie itself (only the basic plot + heard very good things through reviews), but I think that actually worked out in my favor-- the less i knew what to expect, the more surprised i was by certain turns of events (afterwards i went and watched the trailer online and was glad i hadn't seen it ahead of time, as it kinda spoiled some stuff). And, as much as I enjoy those loud, action-y movies, I also really love the ones that make you think, long after the credits have finished rolling, and this was definitely one of those movies. (well okay, so was D9, tho that did have its loud and action-y moments :P)

aaand, that's gonna be it for now since my computer is quite hot atm so i think i'm gonna give it a bit of a break for now, maybe do some reading. tho i think i'll go grab something cold to eat/drink first...

movies, i am a dork, soccer, rl, weather fail
