Jan 31, 2010 13:28

[Sight/Touch. Memory is taken from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix and is the extended version. Shared memory with Sky and makes up the senses that Sky lacks in his memory. Sora finds his memory crystal when he reaches for the soap in the shower.]

At first, Sora's gaze was clouded by darkness. But soon, as he stepped forward into the dimly lit, night-time city, he saw his roommate Sky standing before him. He could tell that he was wearing a hood over his head by the light weight that held that blond, spiky hair down against his scalp, making Sora very sure that Sky couldn't see who he was at all. He looked across at his roommate, who seemed pretty upset and confused at his sudden appearance, The dog and duck from his dream prior were detained by sinister looking beings. As sky turned around to address him, Sora could feel the familiar and cool hardness fill his hands, bright light signifying the presence of what he remembered to be a keyblade. Out of nowhere. How was that possible? And... he knew Sky from before? From this other world? The one of his memories?

Sora watched as Sky readied himself for an attack and Sora found himself rushing forward, keyblade at the ready for a strike. He gripped the metal tightly as his feet rushed him forward, arms raising to strike at his friend. His heart tightened in his chest at this frustration he suddenly felt. He didn't really want to attack him, but really? He did. He had no idea why he was doing this but it felt so necessary. Sky rose his own keyblade... he had a keyblade?! The two struggled, metal frictioning against metal as a flash of bright light filled his vision, transferring them to a new place.

Stained glass that glowed in an etherial light and surrounded by eternal darkness flooded sora's eyes as he rushed forward at the boy opposite him. Each boy had his blade at teh ready as they ran, and struck the other as they finally reached each other. Metal clashed, even though Sora couldn't hear it. Sky spoke, but Sora still couldnt' hear him either. It was maddening and Sora furrowed his brow in frustration, fully concentrated on his friend as they sparred. He felt his mouth move, answering him but unable to know the answer he gave. They jumped back from one another and exchanged words again. The attacks continued and soon, Sora and Sky were in the air, blades slipping against one another once again. Sora hovered above Sky, staring down at him as he stood against the stained-glass floor, the full view rather beautiful, though confusing. Faces he knew were littered with faces he didn't and a full bodied representation of his roommate curved along the side of the circular platform. It felt as if a moment of extreme clarity, so sad and painful, was suddenly apparent to Sora. Crestfallen, he fell, striking at Sky once more. The boy rose his blade and Sora began to frustratingly against the other boy's, Sky gave in a moment later and his keyblade flew away. As Sky reached for the weapon, Sora slammed his secondary blade down, pinning down Sky's to the floor. The two locked eyes, and Sora held that hard metal tightly in his hand as Sky seemed to anguish in this development.

But instead of his resignation, the young man reached out, keyblade shining against the floor and disappearing. Sora felt his eyes widen. Oh no! How!? Sky slashed at Sora then, his blade only nearly swiping about his person. His heart felt as if it stopped just then and there, hands unclenching and the metal slipping from his grasp, vibrations of metal hitting glass under his feet as they disappeared in a fit of sparkles.

Sora stepped past him, falling to his knees as his hood fell back, his eyes so flooded with the light from the platform that he had to squeeze them shut. He stood after a moment, his chest tight with indescribable feeling as he took a deep breath, eyes opening to peer into the light as he looked over his shoulder at his friend. He spoke, saying something he couldn't hear as the entire scene went white, the memory ceasing. Sora was left again in the shower, his ears tingling with the returned sensation of sound as water cascaded around him.
