Other people feel compelled to post pictures of their cats and attractive footwear. I feel compelled to post a picture of my surgery-induced black eye. The damage isn't very impressive, but edited to linked because no one needs that on their flist and it'd show up in comment view if I put it under a cut. Sallow skin courtesy of middle of the night and bathroom lighting. Killer combo.
What happened is I had this lump show up out of the blue that the medicos judged entirely commonplace and harmless but agreed to cut off anyway. And then I sort of came out as a pain junkie to the guy while he was skewering my face, which maybe should've been more awkward than it was.
Other than that, I've been looking at too many depressing job listings and worked on the most ridiculous school assignment. The individual tasks, as far as I can tell, range from the warm-up question of 'what can you tell about the reliability of the information available at yale.edu just from the URL?' to doing word searches in various online archives to prove that we know how. This is an intermediate level class for a BA. Say it with me: what the everloving fuck.
I'm also mainlining Entourage. Three seasons down, the fourway bromance (and Ari) just keeps getting sweeter. That came really out of nowhere, I've caught the odd episode on TV but I never really got involved, and then the other night I was just so in the mood. It has its squee-harshing elements and honestly, I know and love people I wouldn't even tell to watch it, but, jeez. New favorite. Stole my heart. ♥ <- stolen.
It's not the kind of show I'd need fic for, but it wouldn't hurt if more of what there is wasn't mediocre or in few but memorable cases brain-scarringly wrong. Not like the show somehow fails to have the potential, there are enough completely justified in-universe references to Vince and E being a little disturbingly devoted to each other.
And it has to be said, it's ridiculous how much I ship Ari and Mrs. Ari. Like, flail a little every time she's in an ep. And they're married, they don't need my shipping!
eta Having hit the season four premiere, please please please let this be the theme of everything that comes from now on--Eric Murphy kicking ass and taking names. (Well, eventually.) Because that is so awesome. He's still cute! He's just cute and pro and awesome. I enjoy his not living for Vince and Vince alone a lot.
