bluesbell came over today to make hearteyes at Buzzcocks and Tim Minchin. This delights me because it's just that much more fun to throw hearts at screens together with someone whose heart ~burns for the same thing. Tim Minchin! I could spend days wrapped up in your hilarious, intermittently creepy show. Ampersandheartssemicolon, Tim.
What I have against Buzzcocks, really, is that it reminds me of the craptacular music I grew up listening to--I was not a discerning prepubescent, okay. I got better, but there was a time when I thought eurodance must've been good because it was so unavoidable. The Man had me. Those tracks popping up on Buzzcocks makes me want to download them. For great irony! ...But, like Ralf Little's character points out in Massive, it's not ironic if you listen to it every night.
Hey, guys, you're all fired. No one told me IAMX was coming to Helsinki! IAMX! Almost on my doorstep! This excites me so much. I've been fully planning on catching Chris in Berlin but hey, I don't have to! All in all, it'd be a good late fall for shows if Helsinki wasn't two hours away. Wolf Parade, Auf der Maur, IAMX, Ladytron! Maybe just one out of four, though.
A week to Fall Out Boy! I've entered the limbo that comes after you exhaust the first burst of capslocky excitement and are, in your head, already on the way there. But in real life you're not! In conclusion, limbo. And flailing about other stuff, it seems. Hey! I love the new song! And Patrick's AP interview, oh god, seriously. I confess I kind of skimmed but the point of PATRICK ♥ PETE did come across. Tell me more about how Pete is your faaaaavorite, Patrick!
For the past week or two it's like a day rarely passes without me having coffee/lunch/dinner with one of my peeps. I'm not complaining! It's pretty much the way life should be. Last Friday Krissie and I were supposed to go see my friend's band play but ended up vegging at Cim&Wax's with Cim's supreme apple pie, Sarah Connor Chronicles and adventures in the basement. The day before or maybe before that Sugar, Bell, Cim and I watched Freaky Friday and enjoyed Cafe Brahe's ridiculously huge muffins. We couldn't finish them but luckily Wax and her Brother Linux showed up and ate the last super-chocolatey one while Cim and I were watching Sixteen Candles. On Sunday I went to see Eagle Eye with Wax and two of her mundane friends (Nokia: Connecting People). Okay, yeah, I think I may have said 'can I come, I'm curious about these people' but the movie was actually pretty entertaining as well. The strategy of low expectations for the win again! Oh, Shia LaBeouf, ILU a little. Not enough to watch Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, though, because man, you've got your aliens in my Indy and I'm just not cool with that.
On the way home from the movies I stopped to chat with a mounted cop--we have those patrolling on weekends--and her horse bit me. Oops. I'm not shit at reading horses, really I'm not, but I didn't see that coming at all. He was all drooling on my hands friendly like and, snap. Ow.
